A multi-community would be all communities with a certain name, across all instances. It would prevent powermods from being a problem on Lemmy. i think it should be notated with m/, just like communities but with m instead of c.

I just read this post about someone who would like to have a choice to select an algorithm for their feed. However, developers cannot create something so vague without some ideas or inspiration. There is an issue with many great ideas for a customizable algorithm, but the I’ve never come across a website that has an algorithm...

Some guy posted a video where he pretended to shine a laser pointer at a plane during the day, along with his mugshot and a news story about getting arrested for it. It was clearly a joke/photoshopped because the news story said it happened at midnight....

Hi, I’m relatively new here. Like probably a lot of people, I appended the word “reddit” to most of my searches to get discussions around my interests/news or to find “curated” things. I noticed that it does not work as great with “Lemmy” for example, as the user base is more spread out and smaller in general....

A lot of privacy guides suggest avoiding Telegram. I understand that in its default mode there’s no E2EE (and no E2EE for groups at all). If people I know don’t wanttko use Signal, isn’t Telegram the lesser evil given it’s nicer privacy policy (than other popular ones)?...

Hi, wie funktioniert das denn mit RAID konfigurationen? Aktuell hab ich nen NAS/SERVER mit einer ssd (Ubuntu installiert) und einer HDD 16 TB, Hauptsächlich Filme. Aktuell sind in etwa 10 GB belegt, wenn ich jetzt nen RAID5 daraus machen möchte und 2 weitere HDDs kaufe, müssen die dann auch 16 TB groß sein oder kann ich auch...
