HellAwaits, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

lmao The whole game literally feels like DLC to the first game

erwan, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

Yeah, considering it’s built like a DLC to BOTW it makes sense to stop here.

johnthedoe, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

It’s such a perfect game already. I really should finish it. Dicking around for hours on end led me to put it down and take a break a month ago

Same. I am ~99% done with everything except the gerudo area, including the depth. Interest dropped like an anchor

WarmSoda, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

No plans for DLCs on this console.
They’re absolutely going to re release it for the next system.

brsrklf,

It’ll have a new t-shirt for Link to wear, with the new system’s logo on it.

You’ll find it in an equally lore-friendly purple chest with big “EX” letters on it, of course.

WarmSoda,

Yeah I hated that.
But I’m really glad they included almost all of the toy figures and dlc armor in the sequel. You don’t ever see that in games.

WagesOf,

And they'll force you to buy the base game again.

WarmSoda,

Well yeah. That’s what a re release is.

WagesOf,

That's not what dlc is nor is it required on any other platform. Backward compatibility then a graphic re release, not just "here, same shit, new platform" like fucking 'tendo

WarmSoda,

The game, Wages. They are going to re release the game on the new system. And then have dlc for it.

How can there be no trials of the sword?!?

WarmSoda,

I think the shrines that take everything away from you are this games version of that.

prd, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

I’d love to see a new version of the Master Sword trials with all the new mechanics.

lowleveldata, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

I still want one tho

wahming, to games in The Stone Breaks On Gargoyles Remastered Next Month

I just want a session 3 of the actual animated series…

Zorque,

What, The Goliath Chronicles wasn't good enough for you?

JK, I know it wasn't.

maxprime, to games in Cypher 007 Is A New James Bond Game That Hits Apple Arcade Later This Month

Is calling a subscription game free to play right? If that’s the case then Starfield (and thousands of others) is f2p because it’s on Xbox game pass.

geosoco,

Yeah, i agree, but this is the new “free”. It’s like people paying for Amazon prime for “free shipping”.

sugar_in_your_tea,

Yup, I don’t use Amazon Prime and still get free shipping, it just takes a couple days longer.

Well this makes me sad lol.

The game is still fantastic, but a well-done DLC is always welcome.

TwilightVulpine, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom

I would think they'd at least make a Master Mode update. Silver enemies but no Golden enemies seems weird,

Hopefully working on something for the Switch 2 now

TwilightVulpine,

Frankly I hope for a classic top down. TotK is great but I'm getting a bit of open world fatigue.

ampersandrew, to gaming in Zelda Producer Says There Will Be No DLC For Tears Of The Kingdom
@ampersandrew@kbin.social avatar

No DLC, but I'll bet there's a Tears of the Kingdom Deluxe for the Switch's successor that has some extra content in it to justify charging you full price again.

Gordon_Freeman,
@Gordon_Freeman@kbin.social avatar

Well, TotK is a DLC of BotK sold as a full prized game they can repeat it again, they have to recycle the map again add a couple of mechanics and done, a brand new game for the switch 2

Maximilious,
@Maximilious@kbin.social avatar

Have you even played the game dude? I've 100% BotW and the ground level TotK map is most definitely NOT the same, add in the underground and sky components and it's most definitely NOT DLC. Saying it's BotW DLC is a huge red flag you haven't given the game a fair shake.

MonkCanatella, to games in The Unlikely Development Of The First Splinter Cell

Are there any games akin to the first Splinter Cell? Where there’s no run n gun option? I played one of the more recently released ones and at the end it’s just basically a giant firefight and it kinda loses the thread of the original.

Coelacanth,
@Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

Pandora Tomorrow is basically more of the same, and Chaos Theory is pretty much the peak Splinter Cell, so you have those two.

I think Double Agent was still okay, but it had a weird thing where there where two versions developed in parallel and they were quite different.

ayaya,
@ayaya@lemdro.id avatar

Double Agent was actually great, but the only way to play the true one (IMO) is on Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, or Wii. This version was made by Ubisoft Montreal who developed the first game and Chaos Theory. It is at the same quality level as those two.

The version of Double Agent for the 360, PS3, and PC was developed by Ubisoft Shanghai who also did Pandora Tomorrow. Like you said it is okay, but it is pretty blatantly different from the other ones. Different engine, different vibes in general, and honestly just inferior in most ways.

Coelacanth,
@Coelacanth@feddit.nu avatar

Yeah, I think I never was able to play the real version. Maybe I can find a disc. I still have an old original Xbox lying around.

rmstyle,

If you’re into tactical third person shooters, I can only recommend SOCOM especially the second part! Tactical Squad Based Shooters, where rushing in is seldom the answer.

simple, to games in Mina the Hollower Preview - A New Look At The Promising Love Letter To The Game Boy Era - Game Informer

I can’t wait for this game. Shovel Knight (and all its expansions) might be the best modern retro game I’ve played. Mina the Hollower looks like it hits in all the right spots as well.
