wesley_cook,

ATT fiber just rolled out to my neighborhood so we’re switching to that from Comcast.

Our bill had apparently gone up so we were paying $110 / month for I believe 600 or 800 down but we get significantly less than that.

With ATT it’s 1Gig down for $80

My friend sold his Video Game Collection, it just made me have a midlife crisis at 29. Is this normal?

My friend and I collect old video games. But all my physical media just sits on my shelves and collects dust. Why do I even collect them? I literally just emulate everything. Is there a purpose to what I do? People ask me why I collect and I never have a real answer because I don’t even know. If I never play my stuff, is it...

wesley_cook,

I think it’s just up to if that’s something you enjoy and gives you value then it’s worth it.

I’m similar with books. I personally prefer to read ebooks because I find the experience a lot easier and better, but there are some books or authors that I really enjoy so I like to get the hardcover books as well. Some books I have both digitally and physically even though I’ve never read the physical copies but I like and enjoy them so I keep them even though they “collect dust” as you say.

If you are thinking of paring down or downsizing, mayve just think of what games are really special to you and that you find meaningful to keep.

US's Blinken says no to any Ukraine peace deal that doesn't include total Russian withdrawal (apnews.com)

“We believe the prerequisite for meaningful diplomacy and real peace is a stronger Ukraine, capable of deterring and defending against any future aggression,” Blinken said in a speech in Finland, which recently became NATO’s newest member and shares a long border with Russia.

wesley_cook,

Actually that’s basically what it says in the first paragraph

the United States and its allies should not support a cease-fire or peace talks to end the war in Ukraine until Kyiv gains strength and can negotiate on its own terms

Basically saying Ukraine won’t be pressured to accept a peace deal until they’re in a stronger position

wesley_cook,

Is there a way to block an entire instance in Lemmy like you can with mastodon? Or to just hide all the posts from them?

This thread has made me realize how insufferable they are
