I prefer to opt out of using this feature for a simple reason: I already hate when people call my phone, so why would I want X users to call me? Also, X doesn’t have a good record of creating a safe, trustworthy space. No way would I ever trust Elon Musk enough to carry out calls over his infrastructure.
I sincerely recommend that people opt for safer alternatives, such as WireMin and Element. Calls on these platforms are end-to-end encrypted, and since they are decentralized, there are no central servers to save or analyze our calls. It’s important to ensure that our calls are not being monitored for ad targeting based on our conversations.
If decentralized platforms seem too much for you, at least use Signal, which also offers end-to-end encryption for calls.

Social connection. It would be nice if I could be confident and good at making friends with strangers. I have no idea why I feel so lonely when in the crowd and even more lonely when I’m alone.
I’ve been trying to stick to Mastodon and ditch Twitter, but honestly, even though I’ve gotten into the habit of using Mastodon every day, it’s pretty hard for me to resist accepting information from Twitter.
It’s not open source, indeed. But I noticed that the users on WireMin are all very concerned about protecting their privacy. For example there’s one community created by one anonymous user: The Gray Papers- Take back your data. i.wiremin.com/invite/?g=k48934787653
Am I the only one who can’t get used to Fediverse?
