Maybe peertube could create a runner program similar to the Gitlab Runner, then every one who likes could contribute resources.

I think Stellarium is a very good alternative too

First thought was, maybe it was printed with an Xerox printer😃

Why is there a lack of gifs/videos on Lemmy?

I partially know the answer to this question…You cannot host videos directly on Lemmy, but that is understandable, video hosting is pretty expensive, but Lemmy also doesn’t support video embeds(videos don’t play within Lemmy), which means that you will have to open the link in a new tab/window to watch it. Which is pretty...

For me the sync between lemmy and joinpeertube.org is still not working flawlessly. syncing new posts from peertube to lemmy suddenly stops working. When I force a sync by searching a new post from a subscribed peertube channel through Lemmy, syncing works for a while, and the the problem described above occurs.

zsh or fish for an intermediate Linux user?

So I’ve been using Linux now for a while, and am looking to migrate my dev environment to vim and spend more time in the command line. I’m fairly comfortable with bash but by no means an expert. I’ve used zsh with some minor customization but just recently learned about fish. I’d love to hear people’s opinions.

I like oh-my-zsh what are the downsides of using it?

The Blender market is kinda revolutionary and noone really talks about it

All code on the blendermarket is GPL. Yet, it sold over 25 million dollars worth of software. No DRM on the assets, all free software. Free as in freedom, not as in beer. In spite of that, I have not seen once anyone in the blender community complain about piracy, let alone have I seen anyone distribute any software or assets...

You could also use fossil as SCM, it is small, a single executable and has a wiki (and bug tracker) in it, so you could keep your documentation and code close together

Custom Jerboa App Icons! More Details in Post (lemmy.world)

I’m a huge fan of the Jerboa app, and it’s the closest experience I’ve gotten to RiF from any of the Lemmy apps. It’s been a pleasure to use despite the occasional hiccups, but one thing that I thought I could personally contribute to was the icon for the app itself. I thought I’d share them with the community, in case...

I create software by myself and disagree. First it’s very political where and for whom I choose to develop software. Second, software is always made for a purpose and the purpose can be indeed (and is) very often linked to political or social cause. E.g. a software which only purpose is to harm people, say for controlling mass destruction weapons is in my point of view a very political software
