I notice on a lot of mags, there is one or two people posting, and either 0, a handful, or quite a bit of upvotes, but no one is really engaging, most the time there are 0 comments....
I have most of the Fediverse-based account and seem to have just gravitated towards Lemmy over Kbin as found it very confusing, What makes you prefer Kbin over Lemmy or any other Fediverse instances?
But also: I have accounts on kbin, Lemmy and mastadon, my favorite part is switching when I need a different flavor of hot/active, or something’s going on with another server.
It’s hard to read anything about this guy and not think immediately… Fuck this dude. I know there are tens of thousands of employees behind him but still I just can’t help it.
What we all know is these types of bigots are on the outs. Shame the fuck out of them, they don’t do anything positive for your communities. They are wildly thrashing (with seemingly powerful national voices). They will never completely go away but they are reacting to a change in the norms that’s been coming for decades.
I suppose I’m aiming at a middle ground where yes things should be summarized… but also take a look too, it’s interesting, I want to know what you think after scanning.
I’m probably being over idealistic. I like summaries and I look for those myself! It’s frustrating when there’s a post but the OP doesn’t provide any point of view. But I also see a lot of comments on kbin/lemmy/fedi that either ignore the summary or don’t bother to check out the context. I’m really interested in what people think I guess.
I've noticed (with the help of family members and my SO) that I've become very negative, cynical and drained lately. Reading about burnout, I find all of the symptoms to be true for myself....
I have so many thoughts! I think your experience is very relatable, I bet many people reading this are thinking “wait does this person work on my team or for my company?”.
If you have a trusted friend or a therapist you can talk with I think that’d be helpful to sort out how burnt out you are and how much longer you can sustain this. But even just based on your original comments alone, it really seems like a change up would be helpful. If you have friends or even friends of friends in a similar field but different company, ask around about work culture and try to find an organization that does things differently. I do think work stress management techniques are useful no matter what kind of role / company you work for, but still…. Seems like it’s time for you to get away from your current situation. Best of luck to you and I truly hope you land yourself in a better spot!
What the title says. Every year I hear everyone at work go buzzing about Prime Day, and then when I'd go check what items were on sale they were mostly cheap gaff and a bunch of minimally discounted tech products. Am I missing something that's optimal to get around this time of year?
Yeah that’s fair, and to be sure I don’t engage with mine as frequently as say an iPhone. But for the things I do use it for… mainly activity-related stuff, weather, at a glance notifications… I really appreciate it.
Is there an easier way to visit a specific subbed magazine, than clicking Profile and scrolling the tiny spot after my username to reveal the subs button?
I haven’t found an easy way yet either. Hoping the upcoming apps have some features for this. I’ve been using wefwef.app for my Lemmy.world account and it makes visiting specific subbed communities really easy.
I get that. Honestly I never would’ve thought of posting something like this on Reddit but here I feel a little bit more comfortable because it seems like people are open to things without a bunch of judgment. Would love to know what you think about the first two games but also if you do have a chance to look at the third game, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
The third game is definitely a riff on the first two but I’m also really enjoying it.
Are you doing the splat fest next weekend? I’m still trying to figure out what team I’m going to pick. I really do love the tricolor battles, it’s so chaotic and unique. I honestly wish turf war was more like tri color.
The communities I’m used to are usually REALLY into the lore, the memes, the meta. It can be fun to sift through but I’m not a contributor really. I would love a more casual focused space.

Seemed like emojis in posts / comments would get downvoted to oblivion on Reddit. I don’t see the same thing on Kbin (or other instances / services).
