medicake,

Thanks for updating with that you found. Subz is exactly what I was looking for.

medicake,

Not exactly an App but I really enjoy the functionality that Samsung Dex brings.

It allows you to plug your phone into a desktop, monitor or lapdock (screen, keyboard/trackpad + battery) and give you a desktop like experience for when you need it. Plus each time you upgrade your phone you also get an upgrade to your laptop/desktop.

It does indeed have a bit of jank to it, but the functionality you gain is well worth it at least for me.

medicake,

Tyvm for posting this, it was super informative and I feel like I can use a lot of the strats discussed.

medicake,

Totally agree this recipe is so fantastic to have in your back pocket. YES more people need to have Chilequilas in their lives, it’s one of my favorite breakfasts dishes besides breakfast tacos.

medicake,

Ty! It can indeed seem like a huge under taking but with most things breaking them out into their individual components can really help make it seem more feasible.

medicake,

That sounds fantastic! I’ll need to try this when I have some leftover pesto next… or just go and buy/make some for this.

medicake,

Thanks for the heads up. I run FF on all my mobile devices so it will be nice to have access to all the addons.

medicake,

Thanks! Totally agree, I really like diving into the why of cooking and it’s always nice to pick up tips to use with other dishes. YES his chicken wing recipe is amazing as well. Cheers.

medicake,

I'm sick of social media. What are some good RSS feeds that you would recommend? (Yours count too!)

I recently got into RSS and I’m trying to discover some feeds. What I honestly don’t like is that some websites that use RSS and post a new article every couple hours. I’m looking for more personal blog type feeds. Personal projects. Posts that have a “soul” in them, if you will. If you have some that you love, share...

medicake,

Not sure what OP is referring to but it looks like lemmy has a built in RSS feed for each community that can be found next to the sort drop down

ex: beehaw.org/feeds/c/chat.xml?sort=Active so if you wanted to pull posts in you could do that as well.

medicake,

I haven’t tried any of the apps but it will appear if you use your mobile browser. Hopefully that’s helpful!

medicake,

Totally! Yeah I haven’t tried it but it appears to be built into every community which is pretty sweet.

medicake,

Thanks! highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite low effort high reward meals.

medicake,

Np!

medicake,

Awesome to hear <3

Alternative to Google Photos

So I’m looking to disconnect myself from Google and their tracking (as much as possible) and I was thinking about installing GrapheneOS on my Pixel phone. I mostly use my phone for Lemmy, Signal, NewPipe and taking photos. The last one is my biggest bother at the moment. The Google Photos environment is so convenient - I take...

medicake, (edited )

Yeah I looked at photo prism and felt odd at how many features I’d consider core were gated behind the paywall.

medicake,

Same, love how much you can change the widget and get exactly the info you want.

medicake,

I’m just glad that this entire thing has really made me re evaluate my relationship with social media and communities as a whole. Personally I’d rather have a smaller community with a bunch of nerds then another content hose. So thanks bee haw.
