Need Guidance on Routing Docker Container Traffic through a Wireguard VPN

Hey there, I’m a newbie when it comes to self-hosting and working with Docker. I’m looking to route traffic from a couple of my Docker containers (specifically, qBittorrent and Prowlarr) through a Wireguard container that’s hooked up to Mullvad. Any tips on how to set this up?...

kryllic,

I followed this dude’s tutorial and my setup is working flawlessly: youtu.be/xbSfaKwyfXE?feature=shared

In Gluetun’s wiki, they have a section that covers most vpn providers, and has a section that gives you an example docker compose: github.com/qdm12/gluetun-wiki/blob/…/mullvad.md

I have a very similar setup to yours with just qbittorrent running through Gluetun via Mullvad. It’s working perfectly and pretty easy to connect additional containers. Fair warning tho, each time you ad a new container you need to redo the network setting for your previous containers in portainer for some reason, idk why but that took me a while to figure out lol

kryllic,

If you’re talking about the *arr apps connecting to qBT, there should be a setting in each app called connections or something that let you add an api key so they can talk with the download manager, as well as Prowlarr

kryllic,

haha he is going to die of a gas embolism

kryllic,

I would just love to see the fallout if Microsoft did this, just arbitrarily remove content it deems to not be suitable for its users. More Linux converts for sure

kryllic,

Wew lad, I hope this is just a poor attempt at trolling

kryllic,

Awesome! Hope they’ll be able to work on the backlog of promised features more instead of kicking them down the road to the next version.

Anyone has the famous reddit story with the immortal snail?

There was this legendary comment on reddit to a thread asking people what would their plan be if they were immortal and got milion dollars, but there was a superintelligent immortal snail also with milion dollars who would want to kill them. I was trying to find it but as far as I can tell OP removed it. Does anyone here have it...

kryllic,

In this scenario, if you were to venture to the bottom of the ocean you wouldn’t drown, but you also wouldn’t get any oxygen so your muscles would seize and you would be stuck. A fate worse than death, imo

kryllic,

insert grandpa Simpson quote here

kryllic,

I had similar thoughts in Docker, started using it for my media server, haven’t looked back since. It’s so efficient and simple, absolutely love it.

kryllic,

Just because it isn’t foss doesn’t make it a bad service. It’s not ideal, granted, but sometimes it’s the better option for some people/companies/studios

kryllic,

There has been nothing but silence from Unity, other than a very poor attempt at clarifying details in the plan, ignoring the overwhelming awfulness of the entire thing. There was supposed to be an all-hands meeting at Unity on Thursday, but this was cancelled due to death threats according to widespread reporting. It was later revealed by Polygon that the threats originated from a Unity employee.

Yikes. Internal quarrels are never a good sign

kryllic,

Oh boy more consolidation! Surely this won’t have any adverse effects on consumer choice!

kryllic,

Agreed, I feel like if someone starts their C# journey exclusively in Unity, they won’t have a solid foundation in the actual language, just that specific implementation of it as a scripting language.

kryllic,

Iirc, console development requires signing an NDA or something, which is why there are no official docs on porting a Godot game to Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch. There are, however, third party companies that Godot vouches for that have a good track record of specializing in porting Godot games to consoles.

kryllic,

Multiple employees testified that Musk gave directives that were at odds with the company’s normal processes and policies. In December 2022, Musk directed that company servers be moved from one data center to another. Company policy was to wipe data before removing servers from a center, but the relocated servers were transferred without being wiped because employees did not have “enough time to put together a process that would be in compliance with [their] own policies,” according to the testimony.

Why do people trust this guy again?

kryllic,

Hope this doesn’t cause another shitfit in the community, the last time something like this happens the forums got locked down

As a Futurama fan…Futurama. The reboot is very mediocre at best, the show was great when it was a bunch of characters with wildly different personalities messing around in the year 3000. The first reboot was kinda less interesting but ok for the most part, I personally think the movies were pretty bad and the new season just wants to be South Park with 3-year old dated references. It had a good run, should’ve ended after season 4

A restaurateur proposed that exposing lobster to cannabis smoke reduces anxiety and pain during the cooking process.

“I wanna cook it, not torture it ok?”

kryllic,

I’d assume in the next public/developer preview, yeah

kryllic,

IIRC correctly, Genius added white space to some of their lyrics so that when Google scraped them, they could prove they got it from their site since the scraped content also had the random white space.

kryllic,

Well hot damn this is pretty awesome

kryllic,

You mean everyone’s username doesn’t follow the “WordWord####” format!?

kryllic, (edited )

It’s a joke from King of the Hill, one of the main characters misquotes the joke the way the OP commentor wrote it.

I will say the variation of the Ford joke I’ve always heard growing up was “Fixed Or Repaired Daily.”

has your YouTube consumption decreased after implementing the "no history, no recommendations" feature?

I noticed my consumption has decased quite a bit. I would visit regularly to watch content from few channels. I would probably still visit every so often to watch the new videos. But the experience has become more deliberate and conscious. I go to YouTube because I want to go and watch something specific. Mindlessly browsing and...

kryllic,

Yes, and it’s been great! I mainly watch my subscriptions now, and the occasional tutorial I have to search for, but I’m glad to not have a bunch of clickbait thrown at me when I first open the app, now I don’t get sidetracked or waste nearly as much time on useless schlock.

kryllic,

Reeks of desperation, Tim’s hate boner for Valve seem to drive a lot of Epic’s policies

kryllic,

This is a fair point, Valve has earned that 30% cut imo, the amount of stuff they offer to devs is pretty impressive, meanwhile Epic is still playing catch-up. I guess they’re still trying to establish a good user base that they can point to as consistent income outside of Fortnite, and this is an option they’re going for.

kryllic,

I need to find an offline hobby, something that doesn’t involve a screen

kryllic,

Knowing Titanfall 3 died for this is heartbreaking

kryllic,

So basically signal for the fediverse? Certainly sounds interesting, would be cool if it could hook into Lemmy and Mastadon as a common chat client and share between the two.

kryllic,

Bet you could chew the air at that point

Google is apparently going full scorched-earth policy by banning the ip addresses of proxy servers. Other frontends are experiencing this issue too, though I will say I used Piped today successfully at 1080p on the official instance so maybe it’s working again?

kryllic,

This article really doesn’t say any new info.

Welcome to games “journalism”

kryllic,

I think that’s usually the type of person who puts themselves out there in the public’s eye to be consumed though

kryllic, (edited )

Isn’t Piped in a bit of limbo atm due to Google ip banning proxy servers?

kryllic,

Linus Torvalds gets those reports and puts you on the naughty list

kryllic,

You enjoy Linux to freely use your machine. I use it to make the cow say funny thing. We are not the same.

kryllic,

THANK YOU for validating my thoughts on their instructions for installing via a USB or CD. I was so confused as to why it was so prominently featured that way, I thought I was losing my mind.

kryllic,

Voyager 100%, nearly perfect PWA, great as a native iOS app too.

kryllic,

It stands for Progressive Web App. It allows websites to be treated as a standalone app without having to download it from a storefront. When done well, it’s hardly distinguishable from a proper native app. It’s a cost-efficient way to create a cross-platform app that works with basically any browser.

kryllic,

It should be no more taxing than a web page, so I think you’re correct. I have both apps and haven’t done a direct performance comparison, but I will say the PWA seems to be just a tad snappier, imo
