This is a bit of a vent, I’m sorry in advance. I’m still a little bit triggered honestly. If this type of post doesn’t fit for this community I apologize, I don’t really have anyone to talk to about this....
Good on you friend! Reddit as a platform is nearly as bad as twitter in terms of moderation benefitting/protecting ND and GSRM individuals.
I can’t count the amount of times I reported blatantly transphobic shit only to be met with the standard “We reviewed this content and found nothing wrong” response. It has to happen as often as it happens to me on twitter.
So originally I was sceptical about the TERF claims on rowling (because I didn’t want them to be true), I’d assumed terminally online people had decided something silly (as has happened before), but the more I looked at it and thought about it, the more I thought, “Ok, I don’t really have proof here, but the odds are...
fwiw maya forstater doesn’t think trans men are rapists (like rowling, she probably thinks trans men are women who are misguided), it’s just that she doesn’t gender trans women correctly.
One of the most egregious examples I can think of from recent media was from Kimmy Schmidt where the people that take issue with trans/enbyphobia were turned into the butt of a joke because… they’re annoying I guess?
Came out of left field in a show I thought was queer friendly but I realized later on that it tracks with the brand of feminism that Tina Fey follows. (I never watched 30 Rock and don’t intend to so I had no idea she was already problematic)
30 is the bare minimum for any game regardless of genre lmfao. Anything below 30 gets hard to look at because of the bad frame pacing, things below 60 can still cause eye strain if you’re not used to low fps.
Also why do i have to report openly bigoted/ableist speech when you’ve interacted with the comment? Do you not bother if nobody cares enough to report the shit?
I think it’s a fair criticism that they can get a bit debatelord-y but the majority of users I’ve interacted with tend to be much like yourself. I personally do not like beehaw as they seem to want to create a hugbox which isn’t my vibe but I do understand why someone would want that.
However I disagree that they’re the least welcoming as I’ve yet to see any other instance so openly embrace their queer and trans users while also taking action against phobes and chuds with extreme prejudice. Most other instances I’ve interacted with tend to harbor and at worst defend these people which leads to them hiding just below the surface.
I’m sad to hear you had those experiences with them but I thank you for sharing your experience all the same. I do think they have a good level of self-crit but I’m not going to deny your history with them and I’ll definitely be on the look out for it.
Really the important thing is that you’re comfortable and for me hexbear fits my comfort zone and I’m glad you’ve found your own space.
Hey everyone, first time posting. Hoping there are others with similar experiences who can share insight, but at minimum I want to put my thoughts down....
Hey friend, I’m in a nearly identical situation, just without the kids/religion/marriage.
It got to the point where my coping mechanisms were causing me to neglect my girlfriend of 6 years. We had an argument/conversation about this and I could not bring myself to tell her at the time and it made me realize that I am actually hiding things from her. That my internal thoughts would rather run from the relationship than face my trans-ness WITH her.
I ended up telling her this past Sunday evening and she took it extraordinarily well.
It will be worth it for you as well, and it only gets easier from here. The hard part is taking that first leap, but just take your time to find the words with an intention to say them and I promise you’ll achieve it. ☺️
This is a little sensationalized, $40 is a lot, and it’s more than past season pass ultimate bundles, but it’s not just one skin for $40 like a lot of people want you to believe.
Is it shitty that the only way to get the skin is through the bundle? Undoubtedly, but it’s not any worse than the industry standard.
<span style="color:#323232;">Name omitted to respect privacy but if you really want to know they're easy to find on both Lalachievements and FFXIVcollect. Here's a picture of what this insanity includes:
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Completed all five ultimate raids.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Cleared all three Deep Dungeons solo.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Discovered at least 20000 hoards from said Deep Dungeons.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> At least 2000 successfully completed mentor roulettes.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> At least 3000 victories in Frontline.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> At least 1000 victories in Rival Wings.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> At least 5000 victories in Crystalline Conflict or The Feast.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Completed every levequest achievement, which due to time-gating takes a minimum of SEVEN years.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Fully cleared all treasure dungeons at least 20 times, including the Hidden Canals of Uznair, which was a notoriously impossible achievement for many years and requires about 2000 Thief's Maps on average.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Obtained every single relic weapon from ARR to EW.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> All extreme trials and final savage raid bosses from ARR to ShB cleared as BLU.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Killed at least 5000 rank S marks and at least 10000 rank A marks and obtained every Hunt mount.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> All Firmament/Diadem achievements including 500,000 skyward score as every DoH/L for the Pteranodon mount.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span><span style="color:#323232;"> Obtained all ocean fishing bonuses and caught every fish.
</span><span style="color:#323232;">
</span>
Can confirm most of these are mind numbingly boring and mundane. I could barely get through the slog of ONE ARR and HW relic for starters. I’m also not ashamed to admit I’ve paid for bot programs to avoid doing a few of these tasks because of how tedious they can be. (Even just normally. I never went out of my way to try and complete any of these achievements.)
I fucking hate these shitheads, I was arguing with one earlier and no matter how many facts I gave him with proper sources he just refused to actually show any kind of respect
Do yourself a favor and actually visit the scary tankie websites and see for yourself. Any information you’ll get from either sides will be biased, especially in this com.
It’s apparently supposed to make a distinction between trans people before/after bottom surgery. I doubt that’s a common use for that word, but I still have a few points against that specifically:...
I think you might be a bit confused, transexual wasn’t meant to be used as a label for sexuality, it was meant to describe a person’s sex/gender/body.
The last part of your post is sensible and I agree, but while you may not do it, many people do use immutable characteristics as descriptors when speaking about another individual out of genuine ignorance. It’s especially often when the individual being spoken about is some flavor of minority. (“My gay cousin…”, “My black friend…”)
I get why a lot of trans people have bad vibes about the word, but a good amount of trans people like the term as a way to describe their physical trans-ness. It’s especially common with older trans folks as well as in literature, medical and otherwise.
This is such a stupid ass post. Nobody has to put up with the shitty viewpoints pushed by the mod or from people that would use the mod. Nobody owes you civility if you reveal you hold similar views or are okay with those views being pushed. Do not tolerate intolerance.
Fuck off, the topic has been hot in politics for ages, if you’re still against trans people and fighting back against “pronouns” you’ve made your choice and know where you stand.
The topic begins and ends at “Intolerance is not tolerated”, further discussion would be a thinly veiled attempt at justifying displays of intolerance.
Gross dude, the criteria is whatever the site says it is, in this case it was a mod with bigoted intention. What nuance is there to this discussion? Do you want to discuss what level of bigotry should be accepted? Homosexuals are off limits but trans people are fair game? Is that the nuance you want to address?
further discussion would be a thinly veiled attempt at justifying displays of intolerance.
I’m curious if you’ve followed the sources on that article. There’s a few that are decent, but a good chunk of them are further articles and opinion pieces written by socdems and establishment liberals, which probably isn’t the best thing for a trans instance that heavily pushes socialism, anarchism, and communism.
Yes yes, we’re all aware that something that inconveniences you for all of 5 seconds is worse than someone living at an income low enough to not allow them to fix a non essential part of their only source of transportation.
I just deleted my 8 year old reddit account
