You just exit them? It’s the people getting onto a roundabout that have to wait.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I get that at work too and often it’s a trust issue. The other fella could get it done faster, but could he get it done equally well? Support time will eat future development time.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah, I don’t know either. I found it an interesting read, it also goes into conversation design in games. Felt like it would be appropriate here?

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

No, I’d finally be able to drive without needing to have music on at any given time.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Honestly, I’m just reposting what my friends post to me. Blame them.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Hope the pc version runs well. Watching my partner play in 30fps looked painful.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yes but that mode made everything look like mush. And worked rather poorly outside combat.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Could also be the heat sensor is faulty, damaged wiring, etc. When I compare them, the reported number can be off by quite a bit from the real temperature .

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

That’s so recognisable. She can help with eating.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Doubly egregious when you have one of those annoying GDPR windows that make opting out a hassle just to view the menu. I’ve left restaurants over this.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

They do but lots of places make it a major hassle to set preferences. Like having “accept all” but rejecting has to be done one by one.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I’ve already read it before, but it’s so so good.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Precisely, me and my wife have switched email providers several times while keeping the same address.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

You can always buy a domain, and let a service take care of email hosting for you. Lots of email providers allow this.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I agree they make it seem exceptionally dramatic, but I do understand the annoyance of having a service included (an email address) and soon I need to pay for it. That is extremely annoying.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Aye, I missed that bit. Still annoying that something that was ad free has ads. But that’s more sensible.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

My current provider took care of most of that but i agree it is too difficult for most.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

It was ok. Not great, not bad. Definitely the weakest one.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Not quite out the roof, but I had on cat that climbed into my apartment and now it lived there (I did check if someone owned it).

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Because the internet is exceptionally shit against women in particular, and because she clearly stated she didn’t want to do it.

This is kinda basic stuff.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

The kind interactions (including pictures and such) you get on OF vastly differs what you will get on other platforms. That’s not in the job description.

And to your last point, she was a social media manager, not a Facebook moderator. How does that compare? Are you intentionally making bad faith arguments?

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

As for the reason I brought up Facebook moderation is, what do you think is usually posted there? Minion memes? Photos from trips? Well those moderators are often subjected to beheadings, rape, and other very graphic content. Do you think that was explicitly stated when they got hired?

No likely not, and Facebook clearly deserves a proper reckoning. But I don’t see how this relates or makes it ok.

And I am not making any arguments whatsoever on whether or not she should actually have to see “comments from people talking about how they wanted to fuck me and my co workers.”.

Would you say LTT/LMG sells itself as a channel about sex or porn or the likes? No, it’s a tech channel and as such one would expect tech related social media. You could state that the function of the job is unchanged, but the job content is also relevant here.

In the Netherlands, I want to say that Apple Maps is actually better than Google… but only if you’re driving.

For some insane reason they don’t have biking maps here (or at least in all the places I’ve tried) which is such an enormous blunder.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah this feels like a strange combo. Like it’s one of those meals where someone added meat because all meals must have them.

The toasts look great tho.

Is it me, or the hive mind mentality has come over here as well?

I’ve posted some controversial stuff, and I understand why I would be getting down voted for that. But I see some of my posts and comments are in the negatives for seemingly no reason at all? I don’t really care about the karma because I can’t see it anyway, but I’m worried that comments and posts here are gonna get...

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah same. I see a mix of positive and negative.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I’ve only skimmed your comments, but I think a factor is also that a lot of them are really hard to read.

Examples I see are weird sentence structure, the lack of paragraphs for longer messages, the lack of capitalisation, and rather odd/hyperbolic use of words (writing in the same way you’d speak?). This “style” just gets interpreted as “noise” when I’m reading it, which will get downvoted as it doesn’t contribute.

English isn’t my first language either (it’s not even my second or third!) so I understand it’s very hard to get these things right. But without sufficient clarity you will get downvotes, as it just comes off as noise.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

It really is. Luckily it’s a skill that can be trained.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

For me it would probably be “7th continent”. It just feels a bit undercooked and the rules are vague in a way that’s really frustrating. People really like it on BGG but I don’t get it.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yeah. It’s a nice concept, I even think 7th Continent could be nice if they redid the rules. A vague booklet and a half hour long YouTube video is not sufficient, especially since I can’t easily look stuff up in the video. (And let’s be honest I don’t wanna watch YouTube videos when I’m playing a board game either!)

Let’s hope Citadel fixes all that.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I really loved this game but having played it again not too many years ago, it does have several “sins” of the genre like overly cryptic puzzles and pixel hunting.

But the atmosphere is really top notch.

"Block The Rich" is like an ad-blocker, but for obscenely wealthy people with overinflated egos. (lemm.ee)

About 8 months ago I got pretty tired of seeing billionaire spam online. I could not bear to read about yet another rich guy who launched themselves (or their $200,000 car) into outer space 🚀 . I did not care about their expert opinion on the latest meme coin back then. I do not care about their expert opinion on the dangers...

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

I also have several projects where I’m the only user, but I wouldn’t let that stop me from adding features for fun and exercise.

It’s not for me though. But I want to stress it’s not because I dislike it, but I find that seeing something blurred almost highlights something that’s gonna annoy me is here. Otherwise my brain would just kinda blank it. Good job tho, and I hope folks here are more interested.

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Yes, precisely. Or so at least is the plan. Might not happen though, it’s a long story.

eurocontrol.int/…/plans-flight-reductions-amsterd…

eendjes,
@eendjes@feddit.nl avatar

Even then it’s still a quick mistake to make. If I’m not paying attention I could easily make a mistake like this, because I’m used to reading things left to right.
