Perhaps, but like I just said in a precious comment, they “sold” a company’s best prototype and I don’t think that company ever got it back. I was a long term fan and sub of the LMG team, but after this whole kerfuffle, I unsubbed from them and I don’t regret it.

Let me put this into simpler words. If you’re committing a crime, and someone tries to stop you. You put your hands in your pocket like you’re about to pull something out of it. The person who stopped you has no idea what you’re going to pull out of your pocket, it could be a gun, it could be your phone, it could be something else. We don’t know what you’re reaching for, and if the other person believed their life was in danger, they have every right to pull out their gun and defend their self. While I do agree that America needs gun control, I also believe that the U.S Marshal was in the right for defending their self. They fucked around, and that 13 year old found out.

While I do agree with you to some extent. I’ve been pretty happy with mine so far.

I still don’t like the way you have to “backup” everything locally though. They’re forcing you to use their cloud service for that with no other first-party option (yes I know ADB is one, but that’s depreciated and could go away at any point in time.)

I mean there are some things that just shouldn’t be adapted into the digital world. I wouldn’t say cars are one of them, but many features most likely aren’t even being used in said vehicle by the owner.

To be honest, even though you brought up them and the car thefts, the car thefts are what ruined Hyundai Motor Group for me. Their lack of caring about the safety of others and their lack of spending a couple more dollars to put in immobilizers means more to me than them being “dependable.” Their vehicles looked cool, but they ruined their chance with me as a potential customer. The way Hyundai Motor Group has been handling the situation has been a complete pigsty and everything else after that means nothing to me as a consumer. They could have the best safety/longevity, but at what cost? Thousands Tens of innocent lives being taken because they were too cheap to put in immobilizers? Cars can be replaced. Humans cannot.

Edit (September 6th, 2023): Made a correction. At the time of this correction, according to a user below this conversation, there have only been 8 deaths. That’s still 8 deaths too many in my honest opinion.

I feel like a broken record at this point. So allow me to quote… myself

Not every phone I have supports esim. If my phone breaks for some reason, or something software wise happens to it and I don’t have the time to deal with it at the moment. I can pop out my sim card and put it into another phone to get it working so I have something at the moment rather than nothing. The example I’ve provided has actually happened to me before and I’d be screwed if I had an eSIM instead.
