Then start a community or post other comments. Maybe even block communities that you don’t like e.g. the linux subs or whatever. No one is shoving it down your throat.

You could be the fourth but I guess not?

Fair enough.

Then contact the moderators/admins and start a discussion on the issue. I don’t sub to Windows communities but surely rules could be put into place to avoid?

I just hate this bitching and moaning yet no action is taken. If you want to change things, start change yourself 🤞

Just check the top 25 hot posts on here. None of them have anything to do with linux.

Installs mint. Connects to wifi at work. Prompted with a window that wants me to specify certificate versions or whatever. No clue about what any of it means and never get to connect. Uninstalled and back to Windows. Mint so easy to use /s 👍

Yeh and apparently Lemmy folks down votes legit bad experiences with gnu/Linux. If you think the user is the problem here, this community seriously have a problem if thet want gnu/Linux to be mainstream.

Probably not though. Common people don’t understand Internet. Nor does politicians or journalists. What else is on Twitter? Advertisements?

Disney is gouging customers with a near doubling of subscription costs. (sh.itjust.works)

Disney is raking its customers over the coals with a 75% price hike for their annual subscription (originally $80.) People wonder why piracy is on the rise.Multiple commenters are saying I’m off base about the 75% price increase. My payment less than a year ago was $79.99. Here’s the proof.

@deczzz@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Why do we care about this on a piracy community? I never cared about prices and fees I don’t have to pay for anyway! Tough luck for those of you how sub to Disney.

Well, only way to solve this is by having people here who aren’t idiots (whatever that means to you) to participate and make things better. But this is too hard for most people, I guess.

Looking for resources to rebuild my music collection

In the pre-streaming days I used to have a large collection of ripped and downloaded music. However as my taste in music is extremely wide and it became easier and more fun to use hacked streaming services (i.e. Youtube Music Vanced) to play music especially on the go, I decided to let my music collection go years ago. Plus…...

For software I would recommend a combination of

  • musicbee for library and music management and sync playlists over wifi locally
  • maybe combine with mp3tag if you don’t like the built in tagger in musicbee. Only reason for me to use mp3tag is to include the style tag from Discogs into the genre field. Not possible with musicbee. If this is not in your interest musicbee’s tagger is amazing.
  • there are two private trackers focusing on music only. Insane collections. One is very hard to get into. The other is way easier.
  • rutracker is also a great source for music
