Norway. For whatever reason, Whatsapp hasn’t really taken off as far as I know. Instead people are all over the place with messaging services. Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM, Signal, Telegram and SMS. I’m sure there’s more.
Have you ever played a game and wondered what if you could do something that it doesn’t really allow you to do, for example being able to move around blocks in Minecraft fluidly instead of in sectors, edit the world in Hogwarts legacy with spells, be able to fly in a world like Elden Ring or Elder Scrolls with epic sky...
Kerbal Space Program crossed over with factorio/satisfactory. Basically building worldwide factories over several planets and moons and travelling between them by using the harvested materials and minerals.
It seems like that’s something that they are going for in KSP2, but the concept is vague and the game is quite delayed and the uncertainity is huge. So I am not optimistic that it will ever be close to what I want.
My feed is filled with dumb “advices”, so called “professionals” that post the most entry level stuff and all sorts of shit that if I were a recruiter I would stay away from these people
I might be in the minority here, but I see it as it was meant to be. People presenting themselves as professionaly as possible, linking to their projects and their workplace’s events. Maybe Linkdin is different in other regions or cultures.
Yep, but to me that’s what linkdin is to me. A playground for making oneself as great as possible for recruiters. I get my warmth and fun from other places, while linkdin stays freezing cold.
I had to scroll through my front page just now to confirm that it’s still that corporate and cold bulletin board. Yep, every single post was either a corporate post about acquiring projects or holding presentations or some non-genuine post of someone quoting how awesome their company is.
I kinda like that linkdin is just that, and I don’t have to look through it for nice personal interactions, because they don’t exist there.
It’s 2023, why are websites actively preventing pasting into fields like passwords and credit card number boxes? I use a password manager for security, it’s recommended by my employer to use one, and it even avoids human error like accidentally fat-fingering keys, and best of all with the credit card number I don’t have to...
I have a Windows VDI at my workplace which I completely stopped using when I started with a password manager. The Windows login screen disables paste, and I would have to type in a ~25 character long word of entropy in letters, numbers, casing and symbols.
The ability to not mind driving a car. Like whenever I need to drive somewhere, I just completely black out and my body drives perfectly while my mind is full out. Then my mind awakens as soon as I arrive hand have finished parking.
I originally chose to make my account on lemmy.world since all the content seemed to come from there. But I’ve since learned that I can fill my feed with stuff from any instance so it feels like it doesn’t actually matter if I’m on lemmy.world or not. At the same time, Lemmy.world seems to be frequently under attack so...
I originally created a user on vlemmy.net. Then at some point that instance disappeared, causing me to lose the user, subscriptions and settings. So I created a user on lemmy.world. For whatever reason, it became very buggy - I don’t know if it’s the app (I’m using Jerboa) or the instance, but I got constantly logged out and loading posts didn’t work properly. Third time’s a charm (so far) as I created this user on lemm.ee.
The confidence of stability of different instances seems to be a huge detractor for me. I’m hoping to see lemm.ee run with decent stability going forward.
I’ve finished the main story and I’ve grinded some Lynel guts to upgrade the soldier armor (I currently have 64 armor points total when wearing the set.) I’ve also defeated one King Gleeok, and I’ve completed two of the large maze structures....
I got all the shrines and all light roots. Then I started messing around with building combat vehicles to mess with bokoblins. I’m not a big side quester or story liner, so I haven’t done a lot of them.
I got bored at some point since the objectives were completed. It’s sad, but a game is over when it’s over. While it’s possible to continue through speed running or going real 100%, it’s fine to just be done and move on to another game.
I agree. TotK is probably one of the few games I consider to be almost perfect. Hogwarts Legacy was also great, and I’m currently hyped for Starfield (hoping it lives up to the hype).
The biggest downer of the year is for me Kerbal Space Program 2, as the early access has been extremely bad in performance and low on content with no big content updates in the forseeable future.
I recently started playing GTAV again and sometimes I’ll get in my car and let the radio stations play while I do house stuff. Favorite stations are the 80s one with Kenny Loggins, and West Coast Classics and Rock Radio.
I discovered today that my most played game on Steam is Astronner with about 500 hours, and my second most played is Surviving Mars with about 500 hours.
Kerbal Space Program (not 2) has around 300 hours on my steam account. I have played around equally much on another account. KSP2 is painful to see perform so badly.
Oh, I love this. Watched it a lot back when it was originally posted. “Genuine dick sucker” is just impressive as an insult when in desperation. The “haha I’m adding this guy to friends” has stuck with me as a response when teammates or opponents in games become excessively angry.
if you tweet on Twitter, what do you do on X ?
🤷
Can you easily communicate in your country (business/private life) without being involuntarily forced to use whatsapp?
… is it possible to do any kind of business and/or have regular conversations without having to use whatsapp as a main way of communication?...
What type of game do you want to play that doesn't really exist?

Why do people post so much crap on linkedin?
My feed is filled with dumb “advices”, so called “professionals” that post the most entry level stuff and all sorts of shit that if I were a recruiter I would stay away from these people
Hey lemmings, we should do a lemmy place to compete with r/place.
What do you guys think? It would definitely help bring more attention to Lemmy

If you could have one small thing as a superpower. What would it be and why?
I mean small like I sneeze and a 20 dollar bill appears in my hand or something like that. Not classic answers like flying or super strength.
How do you choose an instance and does that have a significant effect on your Lemmy experience?
I originally chose to make my account on lemmy.world since all the content seemed to come from there. What side content should I do after finishing TOTK?
I’ve finished the main story and I’ve grinded some Lynel guts to upgrade the soldier armor (I currently have 64 armor points total when wearing the set.) I’ve also defeated one King Gleeok, and I’ve completed two of the large maze structures....
in my opinion, '98 was the best year for game releases. What's yours? (en.m.wikipedia.org)
98 has some of my favorite games to ever come out, like:...
What’s one of your favorite game soundtracks?
I recently started playing GTAV again and sometimes I’ll get in my car and let the radio stations play while I do house stuff. Favorite stations are the 80s one with Kenny Loggins, and West Coast Classics and Rock Radio.
In which game did you spend the most hours?
