Honestly the sh.itjust.works instance is pretty on the level. I don’t find too many antagonistic folks on the instance and the conversations tend to be pretty varied depending on the community. I’ve seen you guys mostly around video game subs.
I just have biases against other servers. For example, .world users tend to act a lot like redditors which I dislike.
.ml users are more likely to tell me about the glories of communism than any other discussion. Yeah I get it, the ml stands for Marxist-Leninist, great job guys.
.dbzer0 folks are more likely to profess the greatness of FOSS solutions and discuss Linux distros, but I’d rather have that conversation over and over again because it’s usually pleasant and I learn something new every time.
I hate how we’re just on a few week delay of doing everything the States does. Didn’t Trump and his cronies try the same tactic down South? It utterly failed in their case, and it seems to be failing here, this is the second or third person I’ve seen with the Freedom Convoy bullshit try to move their case out of Ottawa and get denied. I guess when you’re that scared you’re willing to throw all kinds of shit at the wall to see what sticks.
Everybody talks about Legends canon but in the main canon Toydarians are not force immune but force resistant. There’s the line in ep 1 where Qui Gon is trying to convince Watto to take credits and Watto is all like “get the fuck outta here with that bullshit, it doesn’t work on us”.
Yeah the hazard warnings are pretty useless now, because they’re not actually that dangerous or meaningful. I didn’t even know that it caused damage, I guess I haven’t been on a severe enough planet.
This is the second article today where I saw Todd Howard talking about severely nerfing aspects of the game. Earlier this morning I read an article saying similar things about the space suit system - initially they were going to be a lot more punitive on what you can and can’t wear based on environmental conditions, so you’d need a suit for cold, a suit for toxicity, a suit for radiation, etc.
My favorite fact about Indian nuclear weapons is that the only way they got the tritium for the bombs from a Canadian-designed CANDU reactor. They were not supposed to generate too much tritium as a byproduct but eventually there was enough for the Indians to build the tamper for a Teller-Ulam nuke.
It’s also that ML was a very cheap domain because Mali (the country which the TLD belongs to) was not actively policing the use of the TLD until recently.
