I have seen many people in this community either talking about switching to Brave, or people who are actively using Brave. I would like to remind people that Brave browser (and by extension their search engine) is not privacy-centric whatsoever....
I ask that question and you failed to answer it twice. I’m interested in how they violate my privacy. Like, the mechanisms. To say Brave products are bad in one aspect therefore they are bad in all aspects is falacy of the composition.
I aways wondered if the communication channel between my wireless keyboard and the usb receiver-antena is secure. I never bother to reseach this. Today I figured out the practical way. I turned on my pc at work and I tried to type the first letter of my password. Nothing hapened. Then I started spamming that letter. Still...
I’ll probably going to update to wired. It has all of the advanteges except portability. The only reason I got that wireless keyboard was that I needed something small, chaeap and portable.
I read a post here a while back claiming that graphine is less private but somehow more secure. Of course the only person I have to ask is the graphine Matrix who claims are the opposite of this. Generally my main concern about Calyx is it’s Fake google play thing. Apparently this is less private than graphineOS’s sandboxed...
I think what I’ve heard (more or less) is that they are equally private but GrapheneOS is more secure. I don’t remember what the justification was though. I’m interested to see what replies your question gets.
I’ve always seen CalyxOS as the version that is the more user friendly (easier installation, better support. At least as of few years ago. Things migh have changed now.)
Personally what I question is the choice of GrapheneOS to use sanboxed Google play services rarher than the open source alternative micro-G. I can’t see how that’s better.
But the Sanboxed Google play services, I would imagine is still closed sourced. Right? If true, just accounting for trying to minimize closed sorced software on device, Micro-g must be strictly better, in that one issue at least.

Maybe they don’t target anybody and just publish what gets into their hands and they see as worthy of publication. They are not the leakers they are the publishers.
I was not aware of this until today. People use work profiles on Android to isolate their more privacy invasive apps. If you want those apps to be tunnelled through a VPN, you would have to install the VPN application you use on your work profile separately and turn it on separately in your work profile.
It is on my phone on CalyxOS. I’m not sure about other operating systems. It could be that is not.I did’t expect so much difference in functiinality since Calyx is based on AOSP.
Also other than the inherent disgust to bug there is also the fact that since bugs are so small animals they can’t be cleaned and separeted to different parts of the animal. This means that part of what you eat is the intestines of the animal with all the fecal matter in it.
I simply don’t want shit (or processed shit) in my food. Is that too big of an ask?
Haha. Well I guess the silver lining is that so long it is not proven to be harmfull healthwise it should be ok. It still grosses me out though. Maybe one day I will be brave enought to accept 2% shit in my food so long it is well cooked.
Still by the nature o these animals being bigger it is practicality easier to separate the different parts. With everithing else being equal. No matter how bad it is, it is going to be less than 100% of the initial shit ammount unlike with the bugs wich I’ll imagine are being crushed whole.
You say “probably” a lot because you don’t know. Most sausages nowadays are made in a synthetic outer part. The traditional ones where made with an intestin that was turned inside out washed with hot water and scraped. Basically people expended a lot if effort to make it as sanitary as possible with the means they had at the time.
Please, do not use Brave.
