Would love to know what you guys think and your reasoning for it. I’m starting to see a lot of Apple Watches/Fitbits/Galaxy Watches in my area compared to more traditional timepieces.
They are really nice for keeping on top of notifications, but as a person who can’t stand wearing a watch but also likes to deal with notifications immediately, I am torn lol
A fitbit inspire is pretty good for that, but it’s only slightly more bearable than a full watch for me
Calibre is great for managing an ebook library, and okay for reading ebooks but the reader is clearly not its primary focus, so I’m wondering what readers folks here use across platforms....
I am surprised I haven’t seen Kavita show up here yet! It’s a very nice self hosted ebook/manga/comic reading server that you can access from a web browser on any device. It’s really matured over the years.
I have a few thousand novels in there and really like being able to hop between devices while keeping my spot in a book.
[EDIT]: Audacious does this, but Audacious doesn’t view the file as a playlist rather as one file, I wish this could be changed, I don’t know it might be. [\EDIT]...
I can’t help with music specifically, but for audiobooks, I have found that nothing can beat AudiobookShelf. It is a self hosted service much like plex and jellyfin, but it is made specifically for audio books.
It was such a huge improvement to the way I listened to my audiobook files that I wish I had found it sooner.
I find this mildly infuriating, I only use Windows for work, I even personally purchased Windows 11. Local account and disabled as much as I could. I personally do not like Windows or Windows in general....
Or if its windows pro, choose for work, then say you will domain join instead of use a Microsoft account. It will let you just make a local account, and you can just not domain join it.
