Strykker, to 196 in pasta rule

Man I must have been doing something wrong. I hated reheated spaghetti, texture and flavour were never quite right after freezing it.

I’ll make a pot of sauce that lasts like 3 months but cook just enough pasta for one meal.

Basically any recent septic line is setup with a fresh air vent. Yes it’s gonna stink like hell probably but there is an actual fresh air source in there

Strykker, to asklemmy in In the USA, can you lose your home even after it is 100% paid off?

They aren’t saying the us government can take land in like France whenever. But like Canada has expropriation laws available where if needed Canadian land can be seized from the land owner, usually with compensation.

This is often done for things like infrastructure, highways and such. Turns it from needing the owner to be willing to sell into “we are buying this land now, heres what we think the land was worth”

But it’s still dirt fucking cheap to produce.

The expensive parts of fibre are the transmitters/receivers at each end and the labour to splice/terminate it properly.

It’s weird, Ontario does the same thing with our health card renewals (I think it’s opt in still though). But the article is claiming most of the new volunteers are from Ontario? I guess taxes come around more often than health card renewals do, but the jump seems odd.

Strykker, to 196 in This is a great sub because I can post 7 memes and just put something rule

Depending how often you go it absolutely can be cheaper to rent. Gas is expensive

Are you actually suggesting that you need to spend and extra 40k on a vehicle so you can lug some gravel around twice a year instead of just hiring a dump truck to do the delivery?

The amount in gas alone you’d save would cover the costs of getting someone else to do it

Strykker, to firefox in I hate chromium

When you are competing for customers not providing the illiterate morons of the world a simple UI leads to them going to your competitor which does.

And unfortunately those illiterate morons outnumber every one else by a significant chunk.

Strykker, to lemmyshitpost in They won't teach you this in Drivers Ed

When I’ve driven an auto rental a few times the most I accidentally do is try to put my left foot through the floor when going for the clutch that doesn’t exist. The brake is far enough to the right your engrained habits shouldn’t cause you to reach for it with you left.

Strykker, to memes in Hey OpenAI

Have you seen a 3D printed house? They look like shit with their lumpy walls, and you still have to run all the plumbing power, and ventilation.

Strykker, to memes in Want some so bad but not willing to trade organs for it

USPS is you fucking moron.

Strykker, to microblogmemes in Yup

My old landlord ignored a water mark hole in the ceiling below the bathroom until the leak got to the point they had to tear out all the drywall in the bathroom, and probably should have replaced all the framing too.

(It was there when we moved in, and we mentioned when we noticed it getting bigger)

So no. Unless they are a “professional” landlord they tend to not act on issues until it costs them more than early action would have. All while making life a pain in the ass for the tenant.

Strykker, to microblogmemes in Yup

Yes, but here you are expecting a landlord to actually think about the future.

Strykker, to worldnews in London Cop Who Shot Dead Unarmed Black Man Charged With Murder

Except “shot and killed” it self can be ambiguous. What did he kill them with? Did he shoot him then kill him with a knife?

Shot dead, means the shooting is what killed the man.

Strykker, to technology in SpaceX projected 20 million Starlink users by 2022—it ended up with 1 million

Well if you don’t actually mention what part you are comparing people are going to assume its the part the majority use, ie VDSL and fibre.

Everyone has always known normal satellite internet sucks dick, it’s slow and high ping.

But musk is too stupid to market his starlink as a replacement for that, instead trying to win over VDSL and fibre users.
