I’ve always thought of myself as a gym leader. I’ve been doing martial arts since I was 10, I love Fighting types and Blaziken has been my absolute favorite Starter since forever.
I also really like the idea that gym leaders have a bunch of Pokemon ready to take challengers and different levels. Taking on some kid just starting out with Riolu while my Machamp and Bewear wrestle in the background sounds awesome.
Because it’s not needed outside the eastern US. The vast majority of land around me is public and anyone can go out. Right to roam would just give me the right to trample through someone’s property when there’s plenty of public land to go around it with, which is what right to roam usually entails anyways.
This is genuinely a states issue and not something federal.
You don’t seem to understand that my house, my town, and the majority of my state, are massive amounts of public forest. I have every right to wander and camp, as long as I’m not squatting (which is it’s own mess of an issue where what counts “permanently inhabiting” an area), anywhere in that public forest.
Why would my state govt have any reason to enshrine a right that would just make more people trespass because they don’t understand the law? Those that follow that law would then have nothing change.
This is why I say it’s a states’ issue. This won’t be the same across the entire US.
The article is more making the points around overall amounts and ratios rather than just the presence of these materials. Plus it’s a science website more geared towards getting people reading and building interest, not an actual journal.
Like 90% of OF “fan meets” are filmed fucks because it’s actually prostitution. Pretty sad they can’t be honest because some people had weir hangups hundreds of years ago
Illegal income is taxed, technically, but paying that tax would also basically be a confession. That’s how they got mobsters back in the day. So there ends up not being any when you’re right and there absolutely could be good tax revenue there
Hell, it’s not federally banned, so it’s just states not being willing.
We are very excited to let you know now that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you....
The massive hype and popularity means everyone and their mother will buy it day 1 even if it ends up being trash. They don’t need to keep you happy, just to buy the game
I wouldn’t be so sad about it. That’s just what happens with AAA games. I cite Cyberpunk (which honestly great in CDPR for how much post-launch work they’ve put in, but we gotta admit it was launched when it was as a means to pull in profit fast), every modern Fifa or CoD or Madden. Diablo 4 has been the king of this crime.
On the other hand you have amazing games being pushed out by indie devs, or smaller franchises within those big publishers. Hell, doesn’t even need to be either of those, Nintendo still puts out mega-hyped high quality games like Super Mario Wonder or BoTW/TotK.
That’s only for economic crime, think theft. There can only be theft out of greed or necessity. The handful of cleptomaniacs that steal for personal satisfaction are such a small percentage that it’s not worth discussing.
Anything like a crime of passion is probably murder or something along those lines. Less directly related to money.
No honest leftist I’ve ever talked to has denied that, but they’re largely not relevant to the ideas around the restructure of society. Any system is gonna have an angry spouse making horrible choices.
No true Scotsman would claim I’m making that argument because they’re full of it. I’m not claiming that those people wouldn’t be real leftists. I’m saying they aren’t real.
If they curved the tick instead of some angled dash nonsense there would be no mistake. Thus an angled top on a 1, rather than curved, should be a punishable offense
“assassination” is the crime against humanity, although pretty sure it’s “only just” a war crime. Although when not carried out by a govt agent, since we’re talking a hypothetical libertarian society and solution, IDK if 8t can be called that.
I don’t know if this is 100% strictly privacy related but I think it does fall in the sphere of protecting one’s right to express oneself privately....
Govt research grants are not videos literally being published by the govt. They aren’t particularly comparable siuations. It’s why I can’t just buy a stock of Disney and suddenly have free access to their IP. Meanwhile I can rehost whole programs put out by NASA with zero issue.
I get the anger and it’s justified, but man is it misdirected here.
Too many people are paycheck to paycheck. They’re too afraid to commit to industry strikes, let alone a (illegal, cuz of fucking course it is) general strike.
Even worse than that really. She’s a principal who should’ve been fired, but instead they swapped her and the counselor from her school with the one in this one. Yes, drag the overperforming school down instead of outright replacing the staff of the underperforming one. brilliant move.
He asked her on day one where the old counselor was and she took that as an insult (because she knows she’s shit) instead of a genuine question like an 11yo would have because what fuckin 11yo, no matter how gifted, is tracking the staff moves of their school district?!
What? Can we stop using this stupid as fuck term already? They’re just fucking fascists. Empowering religious institutions are a core of fascism and not some unique Christian thing
The embargo is old-school US punishment. It fucks over their ability to do business in the US, which means no banking, data centers, and much more. This is incredibly inconvenient for Cuba but hasn’t meant as much as other LA countries have developed.
This is, of course, initially in response to the Cuban govt nationalizing the primarily US-owned oil industry.
I’m of the opposite opinion. General use of highly specific terms just make y’all look like twats to less-involved people. Then there’s the fact that highly specific names often get treated like an attack on BOTH groups by people with crap critical thinking skills.
Remember that KISS still applies to political discussion and is a good rule. Even idiots and the poorly educated are entitled to a vote so it’s better to keep things closer to the common denominator.
The US has a vested interest in Israel and their sustained conflict since the MIC has been major industry in the US since WW2.
Israel pays into a lobby to ensure that otherwise on-the-fence politicians, who’s consituents otherwise don’t care much for Israel one way or the other, or ar evenly split both ways, continue to vote in favor of Israeli-favored spending.
It’s a mutualistic relationship that both sides feed in to to keep the tie strong.
You can even think of it in the reverse.
Without Israeli spending, there’s a chance our nearly broken democracy works and enough anti-Israeli or Israel-skeptic reps get elected that their spending doesn’t go where it needs.
The fact that this post could easily get me called an antisemite us sad. Zionism, and all religious extremism, is a fucking curse.
There are some comments in this thread that are really telling of Lemmy. Some of y’all REALLY need to learn what a joke is, like take a class of something, fuckin hell.
Not even a joke tho, javelina stink like all fucking hells. The old joke was that to cook a javelina you dig a pit, put it on a board, roast it, then throw out the javelina and eat the board.
I like dogs like I like toddlers. It’s fun to hang out with other people’s for a while, but ultimately they’re annoying, loud, and make a mess. I feel like in the past 10 years or so, dog owners have become increasingly convinced that everyone thinks their slobbering, untrained mutt is god’s gift to everyone, and expects...
Yea, the problem I see with trying to argue this with people who don’t like dogs for the OPs reasons is that considerate owners don’t let their dogs run so rampant that you notice their good behavior.
That’s why it always seems to be “Yea you might be that way but every other dog owner I’ve met wasn’t that way” when I myself have only interacted with a small fraction who are like that, because I still notice the good owners because I’m a dog lover.

Lol don’t talk out your ass just cuz your point is running out of steam. I don’t wholly disagree that Skyrim wasn’t a massive impact in gaming, but it wasn’t this massive turning point for RPGs to suddenly become popular.
Skyrim was an ambitious project that somehow didn’t bite Bethesda in the ass. It taught tons of valuable lessons including laying the grounds for the great open worlds we have now. Nobody in 2011 was imagining games having the scale of open world we see in shit like Elden Ring, but Skyrim showed a glimpse to the future.
The flip of that being that Skyrim didn’t save RPGs from disappearing and they were already a massively popular genre and to say that future RPGs relied on its success, especially 12 years down the road, is a huge overstatement that reeks of fanboyism.
