PresidentCamacho,

Possibly a series of subjective answers that display a pattern. You pedantic twat…

PresidentCamacho,

The whole point of capitalism is to whore out our humanity for money while trying to outrun entropy.

PresidentCamacho,

Fails to recognize exaggeration, thinks they’re clever.

young voters say social media to blame for divisions in the u.s (thehill.com)

A Quinnipiac University poll asked U.S. registered voters to select one of four options to blame for the divisions in the country. Overall, 35 percent blamed social media, 32 percent blamed political leaders, 28 percent blamed cable news channels and only 1 percent blamed other countries.

PresidentCamacho,

Well I remember when being antivax was a meme around 2008.

PresidentCamacho,

Who use social media to spread influence.

PresidentCamacho,

This is the guns don’t kill people argument.

PresidentCamacho,

Well yeah, that’s my point, social media was new at that time when antivax was a meme, now it’s mainstream. Social media just allowed stupid people to spread stupidity at an alarming rate, then we as a society learned how to manipulate effectively through social media. It’s not like social media is some force of nature that accidently fucked up society. Social media is a tool that the richest and worst people in society used to fuck up society.

Younger users of Lemmy: Did you ever love a game that you just really sucked at?

So I was watching a few youtubes and remembered how the vast majority (of like the ten) nes games me and my sister had were hard as all hell. I loved to play Little Nemo and Street Fighter 2010 but I am pretty sure I never made it past the third level of either. Let alone infamously hard games like The Lion King....

PresidentCamacho,

Shoot same! I swear to God it was like the controls were broken on every rocket I ever made. No matter how symmetrical it was I felt like I was always fighting the controls.

PresidentCamacho,

I’ve been recently practicing voicing my favorable opinions on people to them. I’ve found I think nice things about people, and what is the reason why I wouldn’t share that. Seems to just give them a little boost while also creating a better social bond.

PresidentCamacho,

Try it out yourself. Some people react strange to the out of nowhere compliments, but not that they regretted hearing it. A lot of the things I am saying are simple things like “Wow you strike me as very intelligent” “You smile with your whole face” “You have such an awesome sense of style”

Its been really good for me too since a lot of times I meet people and my immediate reaction is to be intimidated since I see so many of their positive qualities quickly, telling them the things I notice about them actually helps me retain my confidence in those situations too since I am the one being a beacon of positivity.

Like with most things in life, putting in effort pays out.

What's an alternative to Spotify that doesn't play you the same fucking songs over and over?

I am in an intense love-hate relationship with Spotify. It makes good mixes for me, I have found a lot of great bands that way. BUT IT KEEPS REGURGITATING THE SAME SONGS IN THERE. I know about Song Radios and Artist Radios, so please don’t recommend those. Smart Shuttle doesn’t cut it, either....

PresidentCamacho,

Is the idea that it’ll break Spotify preference to play only certain stuff?

PresidentCamacho,

So yes this is normal, and it will get worse, but if you stay fit you’ll still be able to drink and stay up late, as long as you drink a lot of water.

PresidentCamacho,

Because politicians and the media figured out that the easiest way to get people to watch/vote was to appeal to their most basic hatreds and fears, and to even create new ones. Essentially imagine human manipulation as a game, and the game has been solved already. Now this can be countered by teaching people how to actually think for themselves and form their own opinions, but we constantly try and reduce access to education in the world. Were kind of just fucked until the aftermath of WW3 imo.
