PlantJam,

A cat success story if I’ve ever seen one.

PlantJam,

Last Epoch is another great option for those conversations.

PlantJam,

Are you asking if the ground cover will prevent seeds from other plants from germinating? Yes, definitely.

Or are you asking if the ground cover will prevent the other plants from growing normally? No, probably not.

Just be sure that your ground cover and your other plants want similar amounts of light and water and it should be fine.

PlantJam,

Bulbs will come up just fine through a ground cover. Maybe test both ways for a season and see which you and the plants prefer?

PlantJam,

That option is supported by some of the apps, including sync.

PlantJam,

I haven’t used sync, but content filtering was one of my favorite features on boost. I had filters like “opinion” to reduce the amount of opinion pieces on news subs.

PlantJam, (edited )

That’s great, I’ll give it a try! Thank you. Edit: This is so much better than jerboa it’s not even funny.

PlantJam,

Almost an hour and a half video? Absolutely not.

That’s what I told myself before watching the entire video in one sitting.

PlantJam,

I recommend starting with actual trips before getting into micro dosing. Start with a low to moderate dose and wait at least two weeks before trips. Good luck, enjoy the journey!

PlantJam,

No, a little spoon. Like the kind for ice cream samples.

PlantJam,

How is crypto not a valid use? Crypto as a get rich quick scheme is stupid and useless, but crypto for peer to peer payments is perfectly valid.

PlantJam,

I’m not anti bank or bank card, when those aren’t an option crypto is a valid option. Ideally something without much for transaction fees, of course. Since prices are volatile, you would likely only purchase what you needed when you needed it.

This is wildly inconvenient, but remember this is a “banks are not an option” scenario. That’s really up to the recipient. It could be a dispensary that got shut down by their payment processor, or another shop that wants to avoid the 3-5% transaction fee that payment processors charge. And yes, it could be something nefarious or illegal on the dark web.

To say crypto has no valid uses is simply inaccurate. For most people, though, there are better options like peer-to-peer payment apps (zelle, cash app, etc.) or just plain old cash.

PlantJam,

I’m not suggesting that crypto replace any existing use for bank cards or apps like zelle or cash app. I’m suggesting that there are other payment scenarios where excusing systems don’t fit, like a dispensary that lost access to a payment processor (hypothetical, not sure if this has happened) or a merchant wanting to avoid transaction fees. It’s absolutely useless in 99% of all transactions, but it’s not 100%.

PlantJam,

My isp used to charge $10/mo for a modem rental, so I just bought my own. Now they don’t charge for the rental but all their prices went up by at least $10/mo.

PlantJam,

Was that recent? I use Firefox exclusively and haven’t had those issues.

Microsoft now has implemented "compare with Bing chat" button when you visit Google Bard in Edge (reddthat.com)

When you visit the Google’s chatbot bard’s website in Microsoft Bing. A New Button pops up besides the search bar which lets you compare bard results with Bing chat’s. I have no idea why they implemented this, well maybe to show off the their chatbot is better than bard or something?

PlantJam,

That outlook setting is such a load of crap. Your two choices are “Microsoft Edge” or “Default Browser”. Why even have that setting at all? Just use the default browser!

PlantJam,

If you liked Abbot Elementary, you’ll also like Home Economics. Coincidentally I only watched it because it started auto playing after Abbot Elementary finished.

PlantJam,

For anyone else wondering, they’re backed up meaning there’s a wait before you can start using it. I just signed up and it ended with a message that basically says “you’re in line!”

IMessage on android will be amazing, I’m excited to try it out.

PlantJam,

“The Life of David Gale” covers this topic. It’s not great, but I might just be biased against Cage and Spacey.

PlantJam,

I’m really looking forward to having content filter options. I don’t want to block technology or news, I just want to filter out anything that mentions Twitter, Elon, Musk, and quite a few other key words. I think connect for lemmy has this option, I just couldn’t stand the UI.

PlantJam,

I’m using jerboa until boost for lemmy comes out.

Biden signs historic order moving prosecution of military sexual assault outside chain of command | (www.cnn.com)

President Joe Biden on Friday ordered a historic change to the Uniform Code of Military Justice by transferring key decision-making authorities outside the military chain of command in cases of sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, murder and other serious crimes.

PlantJam,

Just to spell it out:

Promotions are based on performance. After a few promotions, you have people that report to you. This means their performance is your performance. So the CoC properly handling rape allegations is against their own self interest.

There’s a documentary called the invisible war that covers this topic in excruciating detail.

PlantJam,

No need to wait, Firefox is already a strong competitor (in terms of features, not market share). Adblock on Firefox mobile makes mobile sites so much easier to use.
