Kind of a trend, the amount of youtubers who i had loved but their content became generic after gaining popularity is quite a bit, most drastic one being mrwhosetheboss, his uniqueness went down faster than MH27 MH17
If anything they’d be buying since they’re the ones presenting ads… The whole data selling discussion online is always ridiculous. Who are these mystical data buyers ready to shell out billions for crappy “data” (does anyone participating in these discussions actually have a definition of what they think this ridiculously non specific ““data”” even is?) to present slightly better ads to users? Why would Google sell this data, shouldn’t they want to keep it to themselves?
No, please tell the user. They’ve got their big boy pants on and can handle seeing one or two weird squiggles in the worst case, and might be able to actually diagnose and fix the issue themselves (without having to go through support) in the best case.
The last panel is infinitely more readable than parsing the whole chunk of logic above. Maybe you’re just not used to this language’s (I think this meme used C#) null operators.
Honestly, I don’t care about design changes in android anymore because whether good or bad they’re just going to change it for change’s sake in no time anyways
That’s not what operating system means. In fact, you do not need one. You can run programs directly on the bare metal, it’s just really difficult too coordinate tasks that way.

I pay for Spotify for 7 years or so now and i'm so sick of all the ads. After every update there seems to be an: oops, sorry, you have ads now. Podcasts are filled with ads. I was just listening to a podcast where they shoved in 3 ads mid-sentence. How long until musicians put ads in their songs. I'm just so sick of it.
I think it’s good, although the situation does seem to be somewhat dysfunctional on the game front. They’ve made literally dozens of projects, some near completion, all abandoned for one reason or another. I think this video does a good job of demonstrating it. It summaries a digital book called “Half Life Alyx: The final hours” written by a valve employee. Here: youtu.be/mHdrosltGJA?si=9TodoaYu95HMtRqf
Kando will be a pie menu for the desktop. It will be highly customizable and will allow you to create your own menus and actions. For instance, you can use it to control your music player, to open your favorite websites or to simulate shortcuts....
So glad they’re moving forward on the non destructive front! Non destructive editing such a useful feature. I will always prefer to be able to non-destructively edit things I’m working on to easily be able to change things if necessary or to be able to see how I did something in the future!
Uh, this isn’t anything like a bank in the traditional sense… They aren’t using hydrogen as a currency or anything like that. This article is pretty unclear on what the “hydrogen bank” actually is, but it seems to be about promoting the development of hydrogen based technologies by, for instance, issuing loans for funding hydrogen related research.
One frame is probably in the context of the screen, not the framerate of the games. (The deck doesn’t have variable refreshrate so the screen will always use the same underlying framerate)
Presumably they could never afford to port to mobile themselves, without cooperating with Netflix. Since you don’t want to pay for a Netflix subscription… You’re not missing out on anything. It wouldn’t have existed if not for Netflix.
Most of the problems in the current internet landscape is caused by the cost of centralized servers. What problems are stopping us from running the fediverse on a peer to peer torrent based network? I would assume latency, but couldn’t that be solved by larger pre caching in clients? Of course interaction and authentication...
With Unity you can get the problems of poorly documented and maintained third party tooling, with the added benefit of having to make your own in house tools too!
Translation of developer utilities themselves is the final layer of hell. I’m not hearing anybody out about this kinda stuff - after microsoft decided to TRANSLATE THE EXCEPTION MESSAGES IN .NET WITH NO WAY TO BYPASS IT making them unclear, unusable and ungoogleable, I realized what a terrible idea it is to fragment developer knowledge by language.
Was there a thought process applied here at all? Worse still is that many of these localised paths are actually lies. They still use the original developer version in order to not break compatibility with programs, but refuse to admit it in the explorer. It’s maddening.
