Ever heard of Spiderweb Software? They’ve been putting out lo-fi old-school cRPGs for nearly 30 years now. Take a look at Avernum: Escape from the Pit (a remake of their first game, Exile) and see if that scratches the same itch.
Spacewave? It tends to be more slow paced and synth-heavy, and really evokes the feeling of giant planets and stars. For example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RlxClUifEw&t=1800 (at the 30 minute mark, though the very first song works too)
I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one who got that mixed up. I had to rewatch the bridge scene to understand they were tracking the ship, and not some psychic outbreak of heightened emotions.
Also, I just now looked ahead. Is the next title really a Garth Marenghi reference? Because that’s amazing.
That it’s not immediately blasting every ship it comes near. It was either oblivious to the Orions’ presence or ignoring them outright, until they were foolish enough to threaten it.
Aw, not Beamdog. :( They made all those enhanced editions classic D&D games like Baldur’s Gate 1 + 2 and Planescape Torment. I didn’t realize they were under Aspyr, which has had serious issues itself lately, not to mention the ongoing money issues at Embracer. We’re going to hear a bunch more stories like this over the next year, aren’t we.
I was wondering, with all the different Lemmy clients and frontends, what/which out of these do people actually use? To answer this, I made a poll if anyone wants to fill it out, and I tried to put every client I could find.
