What games had easy soft locks that prevented you from either progressing or getting a true ending?

The thought came to mind after reading a recent post about Baldurs Gate 3 here but it reminded me of the Japense only PSX game Mizzurna Falls where if you don’t perform a certain action early in the game you are prevented from getting a true ending. While this might not be a traditional soft lock because you can still progress...

Odo,

It’s when there’s a disconnect between the storytelling and the gameplay. Usual example is Uncharted or the last Tomb Raider reboot: the main character wrings their hands over the possibility of having to kill a person, but the gameplay is you mowing down an army.

Odo,

Sadly, even before the mod purge many subs couldn’t get that right. I don’t know how many discussions I had over the years about things that appeared in the sidebar, only to find the other person was looking at a completely different version of it. New.reddit.com was a problem from the start.

Odo,

Study: Streamers Now Wasting Record Amounts of Time Finding Something to Watch

Content discovery challenges are forcing the average consumer to spend 10.5 minutes finding something to watch each time they access their streaming services according to Nielsen

Combining those, it sounds to me like their usage of “streamers” is referring to the viewers. If they meant the services, it’d read more like “Streamers now wasting record amounts of people’s time”.

Odo,

A piece of internet history. So glad it’s been preserved.

Odo,

Most of the Star Trek shows. Bring back Prodigy, Paramount.

Odo,

And here I was worried no one else would even recognize this game.

Odo,

Bethesda put out a long video around Summer Game Fest that spent 45 minutes showing most of the gameplay systems in the game. It was honestly a bit overwhelming.

Reviewers are quiet because the NDA is still active. It should end sometime today (Aug 31).

Odo,

It’s a sad trend watching the people who defined your childhood pass away.

Odo,

Ah, rocket jumping. Of course.

Odo,

Even with the low framerate it’s still highly inefficient and comes to 23MB. This is why you don’t use gif for video.
