GrapheneOS is such a staple for me now. Been waiting for it to be released for the Pixel 8 since I got the phone at launch… it doesn’t have the annoying search bar or the unmovable widget telling you the weather… Regardless of the security and privacy it offers… And its just pretty.
Unfortunately can’t speak for USA. Some carriers allow you to unlock and others don’t. If you don’t buy through carriers then OnePlus has been very easy to unlock. I’ve flashed older Samsung’s. Last few were 8 and 9. Really easy to unlock but carriers can lock them down.
You can always just go into the carrier you want and ask them. They might not know but someone should know.
Absolutely. The best unlockable phones used to be OnePlus but I’m no longer sure. Pixels seemed to be pretty good for graphene but as you said it might stop working at some point
My solution would be drop them off on an uninhabited island.
Have cameras and make it a real survival program. People can do votes for stuff they want. Help fund it. If they live sweet of they don’t survive then also sweet.

Isn’t that kinda the dream. We have devices that remote the os. So we get a super powerful device that keeps getting updated and upgraded. We just need a receiver ?

Funny you should say that. I’m basing this on GeForce which I use exclusively. It runs games from the cloud. I play Valhalla on my TV. I love rural and don’t have don’t have fibre.

I recently got starlink and have been loving life. Living on a farm playing GeForce games. I loved stadia and bought into the whole thing. Raged that they cancelled it. But I got my money’s worth.
Now it’s not perfect but I live in rural NZ. So I have streaming to Aus to use GeForce since GeForce isn’t native to NZ.
It’s insane how good this cloud gaming is.

Yeah nah. You ain’t getting anything like this. Nobody who plays that kinda high level would be Happy with cloud. I’m trying to live on the cheap and since I’m nomad with no house or fixed abode.
Yoid not get that can off power from GeForce. You can’t really play any competition games as latency would be too high.
I suggest everyone gives it a go as it’s been great for me. But we need more people involved and more competition. If it’s just GeForce then they can price it through the roof with no improvements
Stadia was great. People were just attacking it. Bad marketing from the get go. Have you tried it ? Did you just follow what everyone else says or actually try things for yourself
I think everyone playing with it would be good. Can force them to work for the consumers and not just give us what is cheap or best for them.
Cloud works well for me as I don’t need the best graphics and can’t really justify buying an expensive console. Especially with how good GeForce has been. Tried Luna and it was honest just as good. Sat on my lawn playing ac origins. Was glorious
Interesting. I only had access to it wireless. I used a OnePlus one VPN to North America and HDMI to a screen. It wasn’t flawless but I didn’t expect it to be.
Oh I agree but also I don’t. Ubisoft games are still the same. They can drop access at any point and they likely wouldn’t refund. Unfortunately unless we build an open source internet that is backward compatible I think we are fucked.

I’m playing out of sync. I did Valhalla Odyssey and now I’m playing through origin. I enjoyed a lot of Valhalla. I can see how they tweaked and polished from origins. I think I preferred the scenery in Odyssey and maybe the story and people. Valhalla had best fighting and slo mo. Graphics were outstanding and voice acting was pristine by Valhalla.
Oh there’s no stealth. I basically just run around melee fighting everything. Valhalla was great for double spearing. Odyssey was a giant club and origin seems to be swordfish.
Not sure what purists means in this sense. I did enjoy Venice and black flag., 3 was pretty good too.
They need to reinvent it though. New consumers and new people coming on board. I’m glad they push new ideas. We would complain if it was stale. Complain if it’s new
I tooke ages to get into Valhalla. Then towards the end I just wanted to be finished with it. But I did all the dlcs and I had it on hard mode. The weapon choices were more fun. Was using scythe’s at the end.
I feel with combat you could play around a lot more. Odyssey was best story. But I also just didn’t like how dark Valhalla was
Agree. It just kept going. It could have been half the size. Yeah was a bit confusing with her and she didn’t bring much to the story and was almost instantly vanquished. Agree with those barred doors. Most games seem like that with upgrades but I agree with that. I got one piece and I think I had it all the way through.
