Anybody else playing the new Mortal Kombat MK1? This is the first game I actually pre-purchased. I love the source material sooo much. It’s my childhood at the bowling alley. So far just doing the campaign. I got a fight stick just to play so I’m getting used to that.
That era of production, where the term “sampling” comes from. Has some of the best reinterpretations of other artists music. Another of my absolute favorites is Pete Rock and Cl Smooth taking Tom Scotts - Today, which is another great song on it’s own. I’m going to be listening to Ice Cube all day now. I used to love that old NWA beef. 100 Miles and Runnin’ is underrated IMO but solo Cube was insane. Not sure of who produced this particular track, but he was using Public Enemy producers Da Bomb Squad, Dj Muggs, Sir Jinx, and Dj Pooh. That’s a murderers row of sick beat makers. By him using a more east coast sound also made him sound so much harder vs NWA at that time.

I went to an ICP show once! Had to be around 02-04. I remember 20 foot clowns on either side of the stage spraying the Avalon in Boston with Faygo, and them tossing 2 liters into the crowd. The whole place was BOOMING. Everyone kept talking about The Great Molenko? I just smiled, and nodded. I was dating a bartender and she got me in. I stopped talking shit on ICP after that. It was wild!
Definitely all bangers! I like that he’s planning on using some lesser known DC properties. Booster Gold, Creature Commandos, and a new Swamp Thing movie. What I don’t like is he said he wants the live action actors to voice any upcoming DC animation, and video games too. IMO I think he’s just doing it to make more money for his actor buds, but at the expense of some of really great voice actors. The Arkham games, and DCAU has always had excellent voice casts.

I was just thinking the same thing. I couldn’t find if she’s been segregated for the last 11 months she’s been in jail. She has been in four different prisons, and there’s speculation she’ll be put on 24 hour suicide watch until sentencing. In the US you always hear that most inmates, and especially ones with nothing to lose will retaliate against people who harm kids. Is that something that happens in the UK? I’m guessing yes.

I think most, if not all the major 3rd party app devs are working on something for Lemmy now. Reddit has not only devalued themselves, but made the Fediverse 100% more accessable. I'm a Boost user so this is awesome news. There are so many Lemmy apps in the pipeline. I've tried Connect Jeroba and Thunder. At this point they're all newish, and pretty much the same. Hopefully all this app competition will lead to new innovation. Lemmy users are the winners here. We're witnessing the dawn of the Lemmy app wars.
I’ve seen many comments and posts regarding the API fiasco on Reddit, with the claim that there will be a huge influx of users when that happens. I’m all for it, but I find it hard to believe that the average or even above average user will make the effort to switch.
Started here a week ago. There will probably be a spike in users. Hopefully as the weeks go on, more will come. People will try Reddits official app. I think the Fediverse will get more popular, and Reddit will get more unusable.
