They’ve said that all microtransactions from PoE1 will carry over to PoE2, which implies that all of those stash tab requirements will still exist, and we can presume they’ll just keep adding more.

Why not just make a secondary ‘real’ email account that you use exclusively for signing up for things? Gets around those problems and gives you a way to retrieve recovery emails if you ever actually need to.

TOS aren’t legally bindingTOS aren’t always legally binding, and they’re a private company, appropriating an account stored on their private servers for their own service only. There’s no legal standing There’s probably no legal standing to do anything about this. It’s just shitty and immature, not illegal.

(Technically, the TOS even says they can take accounts for trademark violations, and since Meta owns the trademark on the use of ‘X’, clearly they’re just taking it so they can give it to Meta and help them enforce their trademark.)

Edit: Correcting misleading blanket statement

KoboldCoterie,

Looks like they’re binding if they follow very specific criteria; I don’t know if TwitterX’s qualify, but I’ll accept that my above statement is probably wrong.

That said, they do have a carveout for trademark violations which technically this is, because X is trademarked, just not by Twitter.

KoboldCoterie,
@KoboldCoterie@pawb.social avatar

Meta owns the trademark specifically for use with social media, which they bought from Microsoft, by my understanding.

I get a variation on this frequently. I’ll dream I was sleeping and woke up and was late for something, then I’ll wake up for real, heart racing, ready to scramble my way out of the house, only to realize it’s 4:30 AM or some shit. At that point I’m just up, there’s no recovering from that.

There was an interview with Emma Watson (who played the Beauty in the live-action movie) in which she said:

“Aslan, in Narnia? I found the lion quite hot,” she said during an interview with Yahoo. “Is that wrong? Is that okay? Probably not…No… It’s not okay… It’s not okay… I’m getting shaking heads. It happens. Sometimes animals in films are hot. I don’t know what to say. That’s where we’re at.”

And re: the Beast specifically:

“There’s something a bit sad about when he transforms,” she said. “You’re like a bit…oh…okay you were quite nice before. He is hot. The Beast is hot.”

If it’s a one-off story being told in a comment, I don’t care. If it’s one where it becomes obvious that it’s fake while reading it (e.g. the jumper cables guy, or the Hell in a Cell guy), that’s great.

When it’s problematic to me is when it’s posted as a thread purporting to be asking for advice about a topic, or one intended to be controversial. I don’t want to waste my time writing a thought-out response to a post to help someone, only to find that it was fake all along, or debating solutions to a non-existent problem with people.

  • Despite being desert-dwelling animals in the wild, bearded dragons should not be kept in enclosures with sand (or other particulates) as a substrate. They’ll ingest it with their food, and it can get stuck in their digestive system and can kill them.
  • They enter a hibernation-like state (called brumation) typically once a year, and it can last up to 3 months or so. They stop eating and spend most / all of their time asleep in their hide, and if you’re not expecting it, can look like they’ve died. It’s normal, healthy, and they’ll wake up and go back to normal again.
  • Bearded dragons are frequently carriers of salmonella, which they can pass on to humans. Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling one.

The two side reached a tentative agreement early on safety issues, including equipping more trucks with air conditioning equipment. Under the agreement, UPS said it would add air conditioning to U.S. small delivery vehicles purchased after January 1, 2024.

It’s even more fucked than that, it’s not even their entire fleet, just “more” trucks, and newly purchased ones after Jan 1. No mention of anything purchased between now and Jan 1, either.

Unfortunately, “not tolerating this BS” just means “Not buying from them”, and by the time you see that it’s a problem, it’s too late for that. Even if this was a clear-cut case of them breaking some law, which it isn’t, it’s Apple; they have more money than God, and you’d never successfully sue them before they bankrupted you.

Is a computer virus not evil?

No, software is not capable of being immoral or wicked. It might have been created with immoral and wicked intent, but the intent of the creator does not imprint wickedness onto the creation.

Really, though, I get the point you’re trying to make. We’re just arguing semantics.

Actually, maybe this would be awesome. I’d love to see people abandon corporate TV in favor of small independent projects spearheaded by the former writers of corporate programs.

KoboldCoterie,
@KoboldCoterie@pawb.social avatar

Can you explain what you find offensive about the comment reported screenshot you linked above? How is someone supposed to express that they would not want to date a trans guy? Or are you saying that the fact that they wouldn’t date a trans guy is the problem?

To be perfectly honest, you kind of seem to be exemplifying exactly what the person in the screenshot you linked here is saying - that you’re attacking someone for expressing a personal preference, and that you’re labeling this person for criticizing that behavior. I’m trying to understand your PoV.

KoboldCoterie,
@KoboldCoterie@pawb.social avatar

It certainly wasn’t a good way for them to say it, but I just found it ironic that OP seems to be doing exactly what that post is claiming (some) trans people do.

While I don’t agree with the statement as a whole, I do understand the general sentiment that they were trying to get across - it does feel sometimes like discussing trans issues is like walking on eggshells, where anything you say that isn’t directly in agreement with their point of view is taken as a personal attack. (This is what I meant that it feels like OP is doing here.)

KoboldCoterie,
@KoboldCoterie@pawb.social avatar

That’s not what they said, though…? They were asked if they would date a trans guy, and they answered the question presumably honestly (that they would if they were pre-op), but then went on to say that they don’t like penises and do like breasts, and that that would likely make a trans guy uncomfortable.

I’ve been playing Pathfinder 2 recently, and bards are a lot more exciting there. In PF2, you get 3 actions per turn (there’s no “standard action” and “move action”, everything just costs a number of actions, so you can, for example, move 3 times, or attack 3 times, or any other combination of things), and Inspire Courage affects every ally in a 30’ radius and costs only 1 action, and is functionally unlimited aside from the action cost (you don’t have a limited number of uses per day or whatever). It’s effectively an action tax but at least it doesn’t take your whole turn to do it, and you can still e.g. cast a spell (typically 2 actions, varies by spell), or move and attack after inspiring everyone.

Bards in PF2 are also ‘full’ spontaneous casters; they feel absolutely great to play.

one specific programming language

I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone with any sort of programming background, even just as a hobbyist, who doesn’t understand that for loop notation, whether or not they know the specific language it’s from. (I couldn’t even tell you what specific language that’s from, because that notation matches so many different ones.)

I have a 15 year old son; he definitely has not seen summation in math classes yet, but he has far more than enough programming experience (even just from school) to understand the for loop.
