@Lsquare28@bookstodon I'm reading Foundation and Empire right now after reading the first book twice just to get my head around it. I'm also in season two of the TV show, which really didn't seem to have much in common with the books except for the names. It's all very engaging and thought- provoking, but now that I'm older, I challenge some of Asimov's premises, especially that one man would develop a branch of science that no one else could even understand for 3,000 years.
@ExcessivelyDiverting@bookstodon I love Lord of the Rings, but I wouldn't say the love story is a big part of it. Beren and Luthien maybe. Surprised Shrek didn't make the cut!
Seriously, though, I would include Odysseus and Penelope.
Can you love any music after 5 minutes? That's all it took me when I first listened to Thelonious Monk's Underground many years ago. That sound really spoke to me.
It's difficult to choose just one Monk song to recommend, though. What is your favorite tune? #jazz@jazz
@AlgoCompSynth@composeroftheday I really love his duets with Al Cohn, and both of them are on Tenor Conclave with Trane and Hank Mobley. Love that album!
