The best review, as always, is to watch the first 20 minutes of gameplay to gauge whether you like it. I’m optimistic, and more than a little surprised at only a singular mention of glitches from a game developed by Bugthesda.

I could go on for a long while about this if you like but the short version is that they’ve been convinced that destroying US hegemony in any respect is a net world positive and a step towards true communism. If the slave king Fallowind were to rise up in Missouri and lobotomize every man woman and child, there would still be voices of approval. Hyperbole aside, check lemmygrad after any atrocity that negatively impacts the US to see what I mean.

Their community is relatively small and thus easily influenced towards relevant novel ideas, so many suspect Russia/China boosted divisive trains of thought. Radicalized communists are geopolitical positives. I just think tankies are loonies.

You would be surprised how few radicals it takes to boost the crazy voices and produce a faux consensus. Always double-check information and assume people are liars on the internet or you may eventually find something convincing. Especially me, I’m probably a liar. Statistically.

Story’s fantastic, game mechanics are great, movement feels nice. Avoid if you get motion sickness.

It’s a wholly different style of play at close range. There’s no way to “get behind” an enemy AC as they turn on a dime and so do you. At long and mid range, it feels similar. It’s really not comparable to older games as you don’t feel like you’re in a giant robot most of the time- movement is prioritized for better and worse. I still like it but had to reconcile with that early on.

My guy, even I’m not going to defend it. I thought it meant something different as so much of the greentext seemed absurd for the sake of absurdity. I’ve posted several greentexts without racism or sexism, so it’s far from impossible. Just because something is ubiquitous doesn’t make it okay. Now I’m stuck deciding between deleting the post or keeping it up with an apology to acknowledge my mistake.

I like to see this place as the distilled decency of 4chan and everyone else seems to agree to the same. Lemmy’s not big on unfiltered racism.

Lemmy is incredibly PC, even more so than much of Reddit. For instance, it prevents you from posting the n word in any form- it’s filtered and removed automatically.

Palate cleansers help cleanse the palate. A sad one every few days grounds the experience and reinforces the fourth wall, which is sorely necessary for greentexts. Reposting is serious business.

Nintendo makes money on their console sales as well. Sony and Microsoft use the loss leader approach and recoup their costs through game sales and licensing. Still a decent profit if you buy to pirate.
