Frogster8,

Doesn’t translate well to the steam mobile app at all, I can’t open the image, or zoom in, or even hold and save it. I’m about 1 inch from my screen trying to read it then just gave up, would’ve been mega useful to have it summarised in the text below.

Frogster8,

Copied from reddit user u/iamshieldstick on reddit because I hate having to watch an 8m video for a 1m read of info.

Summary

  • Thank you for making the game surpass 1 million copies sold!
  • The highest priority for the team is developing the DLC and working on the sequel. Brainstorming and exploring different aspects of the projects.
  • Planning another patch in November (exact dates are still being discussed).
  • Expect some balances in the weapon assembly system
  • Rising dodge will be provided as a default skill, eliminating the need to unlock it from the P-Organ. This is to ease the difficulty in the early stages of the game specifically against the shovel puppet (aka Pancake Bot).
  • Polendina will sell 2 additional Quartz from the first stage of his shop.
  • They will give Alidoro costumes to all players as a token of gratitude, including his mask
  • They will introduce an extra slot for facial accessories, enabling the wearing of hats and glasses at the same time.
  • They are planning to add new wearables in the game - the Alchemist’s Hat (Venigni Hat) and a brand new pair of glasses!
  • Aside from these, several other elements are currently in preparation. For a comprehensive overview of the final contents, please refer to the upcoming patch notes
  • They are grateful to the players for praises and compliments on the music. They are currently in the process of preparing the release of the soundtrack. The collection will have nearly all the music from Lies of P, totaling more than 60 tracks.
  • They are also working more diligently and investing considerable thought and effort to meet the expectations in the Wo Long Fallen Dynasty crossover and make the collaboration of the highest quality.
  • Working on DLC - they are hiring new developers to join their team.
  • Shared some sketches from the DLC. These images are merely the tip of an iceberg. Let your imagination go wild and anticipate what’s to come.
Frogster8,

I would say 99.9999% of the times it’s superior to make a table with a saw instead of an axe

Frogster8,

If they can’t use a saw to chop something straight I’m sure as shit not trusting them to do it with an axe. I think it was a bad analogy.

Frogster8,

I realise in modern gaming most people don’t care about this anymore, but seeing a development roadmap for a game you can actually buy in a store is just a failure.

Remember betas and demos, now we pay for the privilege of these, you buy early access to play an unfinished product, you buy a deluxe edition for 72 hour pre-release.

Just a terrible trend I really hate to see and it doesn’t seem to happen anywhere else, I wouldn’t pay for a whole film and get the first quarter while the rest is edited and released, I wouldn’t pay for an album of 10 songs but they’re still writing 8.

Baffling.

Frogster8,

I think I’ll put my comments about early access on a post about a game in early access, if you’ve got a problem don’t read it.

At no point did I say it wasn’t clearly labelled, you’re arguing non existent points. Finally, something isn’t moaning because it disagrees with you, perception can be an interesting thing and you seem to lack the ability to process a differing view point.

Frogster8,

okay then keep complaining buddy

Ironic, enjoy!

Frogster8,

Isn’t this game not out yet, how is there dlc gameplay?

Frogster8,

Ah okay, I have comments on YouTube hidden for the same reason I haven’t read beyond that bit of your paragraph (sorry) spoilers!

Maybe it’ll make more sense to me later then, I was just confused seeing DLC trailers for a game I hadn’t seen come out yet.

Frogster8, (edited )

That’s a really shame, good that it’s still possible to get it but weird to make it available immediately by paying. Just an odd choice, wonder what makes it special, guess I’ll find out once I beat lies of P then get the game and beat it to unlock

Frogster8,

Between lies of P and this I’ve gone from 0 interest in my backlog to 2 games to beat

Frogster8,

This is just them talking - mostly - about how much everyone loves the game they made and then saying the reason they didn’t give you previews is because people who attack bugs they had fixes in progress for.

Basically it read like an advert for the game they made as a blog post.

Frogster8,

Profit margin driven companies backed by a capitalist society where infinite growth is deemed viable sucks*

What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?

I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....

Frogster8,

Best game ever made, really is. First I’d played in years that felt like a fresh new experience.

Frogster8,

If you can’t work out how to make a cold person warm, maybe this isn’t the game for you, I didn’t even realise that was a puzzle or challenge tbh

Frogster8,

I’m not sure the game can be blamed for that

Frogster8,

People with an addictive personality will find an addiction, self control must be experienced and learned, and you can’t blame a game for this.

Frogster8,

You have a very biased and immature mindset towards the situation tbh and I can’t really waste any more time on this, but blaming the game for your friends not being nice to you anymore is just not realistic

Frogster8,

Ah brilliant, lots of huge spoilers, nice one

Frogster8,

Yeah, a click bait article written based on an anecdote with no real substance or purpose, might as well be a YouTube short

Frogster8,

Ironically this gripe is just as outdated

Frogster8,

That’s pretty much all I’ve wanted in a game since I played AC4 or the pirates of the carribean on xbox.

So much so that while at uni doing comp sci I started trying to get into game dev just to learn that knowing how to program was such a fraction of requirement, I couldn’t make 2D or 3D assets at all, just don’t have the flair for it and didn’t want to use bought assets.

Still waiting for somebody to make my dream game

Frogster8,

Interesting I didn’t know that, how long have they owned 30%?

This post is a bit reminiscent of r/gamercirclejerk but at least your comment taught me something new and salvaged it

Frogster8,

For anyone - like me - who doesn’t know what this is, it’s a showcase for mods of (mostly) older retro games.

Fan Ports PlayStation Classic [WipeOut], Dares Sony To Shut Him Down And Make Its Own (kotaku.com)

WipeOut was Sony’s initial first-party exclusive for the original PlayStation when it launched back in 1995. The anti-gravity racing game was phenomenal. Now it’s abandoned. So one dedicated programmer took it upon himself to excavate the game’s leaked source code and make it playable for free in any web browser....

Frogster8,

I mean, what? They’ll just shut it down and NOT make a remaster surely

Frogster8,

I was scrolling through everyones incredibly true facts about consuming most things under capitalism is probably unethical, pretty much everything is sourced unethically, and thinking there’s no solution here to this problem

Then I read this and went, “Oh yeah, i forgot about that”, unlike most stuff we consume you can actually just pirate this and then tada, you’ve resolved your pocket lining issue.

Frogster8,

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone view themselves as a morale better because they pirated a game, rather they just either couldn’t afford it or didn’t want to pay a company they didn’t agree with.

Frogster8,

I’ve played every mainline FF1-12, couldn’t finish 3, beat 15, and went into this blind.

Outside of the 10% of spectacular moments, this was just so incredibly bland. I’ve never skipped cutscenes in a game before and I did that for the last 15 side quests.

Gear upgrading was pointless, exploration led to absolutely no secrets or purpose to do so, combat was praised early on as amazing but it felt like mash attack + wait for cooldowns. They removed all status effects and even elements of magic, again I know the “reasoning” for this but it’s just made things more and more basic.

Marlboro spits on you, no consequences but damage

Cast fire on a bomb, pure damage, element means nothing

And locking hard mode behind ng+? Let people decide what mode they want, not everyone wants to spend 50 hours on a game which is too easy just to play it at a level they’ll find engaging.

I found this game to be wholly forgettable which is a shame because I really tried to go into it with no expectations.

Frogster8,

Yeah I can’t wait for that, now that IS a good combat system in my mind, I really thought they’d take it and build on it for 16 but instead it’s quite clear the two teams developed separately and one struck gold while the other hit regular old rock.

I just hope next gen only fixes the million corridor sliding loading screen moments, the pacing of FF7:RE was so slow wandering around, the open world (or semi or whatever it’ll be) from the trailers looks very welcome

Frogster8, (edited )

Won’t even launch for me on steam deck, tried all the proton types, verifying files, restarting the deck, dx11 or vulkan, etc etc.

Nothing.

Incredibly big waste of money and disappointment

Edit : hilarious to be fanboy down voted for stating my experience, get over it

Frogster8,

Yeah, doesn’t do anything either for me, it already doesn’t use the launcher it goes straight to the larian logo, then nvidia, then crash.

Frogster8,

What could I possibly have done to it, I only use it to play steam games, I bought this game, tried to launch it, and nothing.

Just because you don’t experience an issue doesn’t mean it’s infallible and somebody else isn’t.

Frogster8,

Buying the game now is not being an early adopter, that’s what early access was which I didn’t purchase. Additionally, it’s fine for it to be fully released AND still not verified on deck or ready for it.

This is also not the case. It is now in full release AND deck verified.

Saying I should refund it if I don’t want to be an early adopter is a fallacy of the facts, and is blaming the consumer for the product being in a state lesser than advertised.

I can’t understand how you can defend a game that has been in early access, is now in full release, and deck verified, having issues even LAUNCHING on deck. It shows an ignorance of facts and a bias view in favour of the “everything is fine, larian good” view.

Frogster8,

No crusade at all, quite the dramatic description, just thought I’d clarify the difference between “early adopter” and “full price, full release, deck verified”

Frogster8,

Super hydelide, what a ride

Frogster8,

I’ve had countless times where I’ve modded skyrim to “perfection”, had it exactly how I want visually, then I enter a building and get the overlapping light sources bug. In the end I find it impossible to fix, impossible to tolerate, and my gaming experience stops there, I’ve never actually finished skyrim I just always go through this cycle.

Frogster8,

Obviously a bit on the more expensive side, but for me the steam deck does it all. Pc gaming, emulation of retro, “console” gaming (as in nice controller built in)… It’s just brilliant

Frogster8,

“I’ll always remember” ------> “I forget the name of right now”

Classic.
