I'm still annoyed at the removal of google play music. I want to just buy tracks or albums, instead of a subscription, and just own a flac/mp3/music file I can do anything with.
I rip cds now, and feel 0 guilt for that even though its illegal here because quite frankly the artists are getting more money this way.
Feel free post in this thread about games you have been playing or want to play. All platforms and consoles and anything in between is fair game as long as it is in the context of a video game.
I'm back to the classic Hollow Knight/Stardew Valley combination that I wasted way too much time on years ago. Love the two of them, never got Hollow Knight completed though.
PAYDAY 3 is one of the most anticipated cooperative titles of this 2023 that will allow us to enjoy alone or accompanied by friends (or other players) a lot
I don't know but I've always thought this sort of place should have 4 buttons for a post. Relevant Irrelevant, I like, I do not like. This way people could disagree with something, but show that they think it is a good fit for the magazine.
Would you not have to get a proper switch installed? We have a diesel generator in our house (countryside, unreliable power) and we had to get a big isolater switch, so when the switch is set to generator, nothing can go back into the grid.
Back in the day, on other forums than this one, there were tags to differentiate between porn (nsfw) and gore (nsfl). This was nice for people browsing new that had no problem seeing tits, but wanted to avoid degloved hands....
I don't agree, someone who got a nasty cut from a chainsaw while cutting a tree and posting it is definitely gore, should be classed as NSFL, and is very much legal.
So I’ve recently been trying to use the term “2SLGBTQQIA+” over “LGBTQ” as it seems more inclusive, and includes first nation peoples beliefs on sexuality and gender, as well as including and differentiating “queer” from “questioning”. It’s not perfect (still combines A for ally and A for Asexual) but I think...
My thing with all this is people know what you mean by LGBT, that's what actually matters. It's easy to remember and understood by everyone, so to me, its what makes sense to use. 2SLGBTQQIA+ without context I wouldn't have a clue (although I'd probably figure it out from context), it's too long to remember, and you couldn't count on everyone (especially older people) being able to figure it out.
There is a reason for that I've heard before. The fuel tank isn't uniformly built, the top half of it is physically wider (therefore bigger) than the bottom half. Not sure why manufacturers couldn't build this into the gauge though.
From my experience, my car doesn't do that, but what it does do is the needle stays at full for 20-30 miles and only then starts moving.
I currently have an iPhone X. I like it, but it’s gradually dying. It’s also a bit too big. Perfect size would be the iPhone 7 or similar. I’ve had different brand phones before this, so while I’ve been on Apple for a while, I’ve had Samsung, Motorola, Sony, Nokia etc. all the way back to the Nokia 3210....
Hang on contactless and android auto don't work on Graphene? I'm really glad I saw this because I was gonna try get lineage or graphene on my phone but I couldn't use it without those 2.
Them, WhatsApp, music (ripped cds), and my bank apps are all I really use my phone for so I thought it wouldnt be a bother.
I was watching a video on landscape mode on my phone on YouTube. And then when a wild midroll ad appears, the ad thinks it’s a good idea to play a ultrawide-screen video inside a TikTok style vertical phone window, and then puts that in a widescreen video. The whole thing also got smaller to display the CTA at the right....
Why is not being able to log in a deal breaker? I imported my subscriptions into it using takeout and that was good enough for me. Although I will admit on youtube I always had search and watch history off, so recommendations have been useless everywhere (intentionally).
I'm curious about the demographic makeup of Kbin. As we are still in it's infancy I feel that most lean towards a certain way, so I made this survey just now to find out. I encourage you to join in, and you can skip any and every question if you so choose. You can view the results at the bottom of the page.
I know you can play the game at chrome://dino, but it doesn’t evoke the same nostalgic feeling of a 10yr old me turning on aeroplane mode and spamming space bar to try and beat my brother’s high score. Good memories.
I don’t really understand why people do it. Not like “they’re doing it because they are depressed and feel bad”, I had depression myself but never had a call to injure myself. I hate pain, and doing something painful to myself while I’m already feeling bad doesn’t really sound appealing. So I don’t quite get what...
I can answer for myself, it helps a lot when I'm stressed. When I'm stressed I tend to feel very shit about myself to begin with, and that coupled with the stress itself makes me do it to feel better. It works as well, although I wish it didn't.
I'm very good at keeping only a few tabs open and closing them when I'm done. I used my mums phone to look something up and chrome wouldn't even give a tab count, just a smiley face...
I love espresso and coffee in almost any form.. and besides brewing at home I kind of love the idea of being able to brew it on the road.. literally....
You're looking a tool called John the Ripper. The jumbo version comes with a script called office2john, which extracts the password hash for it to crack.
I believe you can also use hashcat with the password hash, which will be a lot quicker if you have a GPU because John is CPU bound.
I'm likely dyslexic. I find it very hard to read numbers especially (I just scramble numbers up in my head), so typing anything on that where numbers aren't in their normal place would be really hard for me.
I passed my test less than a year ago, and I was always taught unless the road/signs says otherwise, its the left lane for anything roughly straight or left of straight, and right otherwise
Iv seen posts with people substituting rape with r@pe. Other than bypassing filters I can’t see a reason to censor just 1 letter that doesn’t actually censor the word? I see if you fully censor the word, but even still context completely ruins the censorship.
Why can't it be normal for everyone just to use the correct words (to me it feels like it'd be kinda insulting to substitute a word like rape because it feels like then you're putting the platform above the very serious topic), then people be able to set up their own filters to filter out words like rape if they don't want to see them.
Someone I know has a bathroom that is not GFCI compliant, and I was wondering if it is possible to have a shower that’s humid enough to allow electricity to transfer, or would at that point would the air be inhospitable to breathe in.
So, just finished reading an article on WaPo about fireflies/lightening bugs and got me thinking further... Car headlights suck. They mess up our night vision when we pass another dickhead running white/blue lights. We mess up the habit(at) of many animals/bugs. So why not red lights? My hiking/camping headlamp has a red light...
I imagine we need close to white to differentiate colours, see this video for more information on that.
However, the LED lights are way too bright, usually when I see an incandescent headlight its fine, but the LED ones are so bright and I have no idea why that is. I have a recollection of reading somewhere that headlight brightness is based on a unit based on a wavelength of light closer to orange, so the more blue a light is, the brighter it needs to be, but I can't remember for sure.
I know memory is fairly cheap but e.g. there are millions of new videos on youtube everyday, each probably few hundred MBs to few GBs. It all has to take enormous amount of space. Not to mention backups.
Whether you started with a 2600 and a joystick in your hand, an N64 with a blistered palm or building your first PC in your teens, what is that one video game you've played at some point that to this day sits at the top of your list.
Definitely Dark Souls. I have played DS 1, 2, 3, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and Sekiro. I only have completed DS 1 and 2 out of them (mostly due to time, with the exception of 3 which I just don't like).
I know the DS1 map like the back of my hand, the mechanics feel natural to me, I feel like I'm being treated fairly and have the skill to complete challenges, and it genuinely feels rewarding for me. I feel good after playing Dark Souls for a bit. Even when struggling with a boss, 95% of the time it felt like I had made a mistake which could be fixed next time.
Some users wonder if the dev will be charged for having it still up, others argue Reddit can't charge him without having signed a contract. Everyone is confused as to why the API change hasn't made it inoperable....
