CuddlyCassowary,

My 5gHz is “Hot Signals in Your Area.” My 2.4gHz is “Mediocre Signals in Your Area.”

CuddlyCassowary,

Speed over strength. It doesn’t need to go further, just faster.

CuddlyCassowary,

Drugs and alcohol

CuddlyCassowary,

I live in Colorado, so generally some unusual form of weed for those who enjoy that. A dispensary near me has THC chocolate truffles, those usually go over well.

CuddlyCassowary,

I’ve used the same three tennis balls going on 20 years now.

CuddlyCassowary,

I’ve had mine for about 35 years and done minimal maintenance. I’m about to send it to Victronox for a “spa visit” because the red casing got cracked. They will do a full cleaning and overhaul (and repair) on it for a very reasonable price. They really do stand behind their work.

CuddlyCassowary,

Ginger and honey drink. You can buy it prepackaged from Asian grocers (and probably amazon). Gold Kili is the brand I like.

CuddlyCassowary,

Yes - I especially love hot apple cider!

CuddlyCassowary,

Apple juice is not cider though. Apple juice is clear and flat. Cider (alcoholic) is clear and bubbly. Cider (nonalcoholic) is brown and served hot or cold and spiced or unspiced.

Any of these can be made with other fruit, but apple is the most common.

CuddlyCassowary,

When I make it by putting an apple in my juicer it’s pretty clear. Maybe translucent is a better word? I don’t do any special processing.

CuddlyCassowary,

First day in the dorms at college I see a name tag next to a door that says “Shithead” and thought what a mean joke to play! Turns out her name was shi-thee-ad. Rest of the year she was Thea.

Also worked with a woman named “Noname” (no-nam-ay) and apparently that gave her all sorts of trouble on official forms.

CuddlyCassowary,

I have no idea what I just watched, but I would date her.

CuddlyCassowary,

My cousin’s full name is Christopher Patrick Bacon. He goes by Chris P. Bacon and just embraces it. His parents knew.

CuddlyCassowary,

I want to downvote this because it makes me angry, but I don’t want to harm the person who posted it. Ugh! (didn’t downvote)

CuddlyCassowary,

Oh, good to know! I hadn’t really considered that. Thanks!

CuddlyCassowary,

Great I guess. No mortgage involved, so I’m thrilled that I found my happy place.

CuddlyCassowary,

Same and I checked my app settings. Annoying.

CuddlyCassowary,

I live in Denver too and couldn’t agree more.

CuddlyCassowary,

How do keep his ears hidden? Do they naturally stand up so you can tuck them in? I’m not familiar with whippet ear technology.

CuddlyCassowary,

That is fantastic. Thank you!

CuddlyCassowary,

Transformers: More than meets the eye.

People who have been through tough timew, how did you keep moving?

I’m a week late on rent due, I only paid half, I had to call all my credit card companies and utilities to tell them what’s going on. And now my check engine light turned on because the bastard is misfiring. My wife lost her dad which fucked us both up due to missing a ton of work, and I don’t know what to do. I’m tired...

CuddlyCassowary,

lasagnalove.org

Can’t say enough good things about them.

CuddlyCassowary,

This is my favorite thread ever.

CuddlyCassowary,

Fuck yes! I love cold weather. Sign me up.

CuddlyCassowary,

Check the user name.

CuddlyCassowary,

Believe me, I know the feeling all too well…

CuddlyCassowary,

I literally trust them with my life. Agreed.

CuddlyCassowary,

Why can’t we all just get along?

CuddlyCassowary,

My maternal grandparents in New Britain, CT.

Seriously, though. How often do you think of the Roman Empire?

I know this is a joke/meme, but I sincerely think of the Roman Empire a surprising amount of times. I find myself obsessing over how Roman citizens were living just as complex lives as we are today, or about Marcus Aurelius’ life and philosophy, or about how the Republic fell and became a totalitarian state.

CuddlyCassowary,

I read several pages of the The Daily Stoic…well…daily…so pretty much at least once a day.

What is your comfort activity (like comfort food)?

Mine is playing AOE2 in easiest (or standard if I want a bit of challenge) mode against 3 bots. I just build my economy, wall up (and laugh at the enemy soldiers attacking my walls in vain), reach imperial age and attack once my army reaches the population limit. I also send 104 in the chat so they don’t surrender and I can...

CuddlyCassowary,

I like “smedge” so much better for him! That’s beautiful.

CuddlyCassowary,

During COVID I couldn’t find any distilled water to make cocktail pods (which are already pretty extra in their own right), so I bought an alembic still and learned how to use it to distill water, which led me to figure out how to rig it up with a hot plate, food grade tubes, fish tank pump, and igloo cooler so I could run it in an out of the way spot in my house. It takes days to make a few gallons…but the cocktail pods came out great and now I’m slightly closer to being a survivalist! (My smartass friends: Why didn’t you just make Jell-O shots?)

CuddlyCassowary,

I got mine at a beer brewing supply store in Denver. I would guess you could find something similar online. Be sure to wash them well the first time. My first couple gallons of water through them tasted a bit “rubbery.”

CuddlyCassowary,
CuddlyCassowary,

A membrane full of booze that is nontoxic.

CuddlyCassowary,

I became a bartender and now am studying for my sommelier certification.

CuddlyCassowary,

Pocket watch, sun glasses, drinking glasses

CuddlyCassowary,

Well, now I am!

I suppose there are always beer goggles, but not quite the same.

CuddlyCassowary,

Oh - and Richard Dreyfus too!
