I guess you didn’t read the article or think about what you’re saying?
They aren’t phishing low tier workers. They’re getting executives and people high up in companies to the data they’re after. They aren’t getting in by using an hourly employees info.
Couldn’t we have a lead box lined with these radiation to electricity converters with a small amount of radioactive material in the center, and have an energy generating device that would last for thousands or even millions of years? Imagine putting the sun in a box lined with solar cells, but on a much smaller scale....
Amazon.com’s Whole Foods Market doesn’t want to be forced to let workers wear “Black Lives Matter” masks and is pointing to the recent US Supreme Court ruling permitting a business owner to refuse services to same-sex couples to get federal regulators to back off....
A company not wanting it’s employees to wear politicized materials while at work is what makes you mad? I suppose you also want them to be able to wear rebel flag or SS masks? A Trump facemask with MAGA on it? Maybe you just read the title?
BLM may be a good thing, but the simple fact is that it has still become politicized and while not displaying BLM causes no customers to get pissy, displaying it does get some customers pissy. Companies aren’t obligated to “rock the boat”.
Uncommon to the young folks. Pretty much everyone over the age of 35 has seen my cousin Vinny. It was also super popular and well known and is still definitely a great movie.
Hi there, do you know if there is a way to disable laugh tracks from sitcoms? I really would like to rewatch some shows like King of Queens but I can’t bear the constant laughing in the background. Cheers
There are simply some communities I can’t find on Lemmy. For example, I use subreddits based on admissions to specific colleges that would never be able to function on Lemmy due to its size. I’d much prefer to abandon Reddit altogether but the information I need is usually only there.
Gotta get on their for automotive repair stuff and yo yo stuff and other things that benefit from a huge user base and niche categories. I lemmy to get random info/news and piss away time.
I’m looking for a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t need dust bags and gets its power from the wall socket with a cord. The suction power has high priority for me...
The newer ones are still pretty good, but they aren’t so bulletproof, anymore.
The fact is, if you do regular maintenance on your vacuums like filters, keeping tangles out, etc and you don’t bash it around hard, even most cheapo vacuums can last a decade. Most just eventually get abused. Some definitely have weak/flawed roller assemblies, though. Screw those ones.
I bought a dyson v6 stick vacuum dirt cheap with a bad battery.
I do a lot of tinkering and instead of buying a new battery from dyson for like $100 or a Chinese knock off lying about capacity (like some claim so high that the type of batteries that are in a battery pack don’t exist) I took the oem battery apart and replaced the old batteries with better (I believe the dyson had 18650 samsung 2000 mah batteries) than what was originally in it, and that thing is a beast now. If I don’t use turbo mode I could go over the whole house on a charge.
For me it is the fact that our blood contains iron. I earlier used to believe the word stood for some ‘organic element’ since I couldn’t accept we had metal flowing through our supposed carbon-based bodies, till I realized that is where the taste and smell of blood comes from.
I don’t have iron issues so I haven’t completely fact checked this, but I have read in various places that using cast iron skillets to cook with does add more iron to your foods to help supplement.
It might be a terrible law if it pushes the burden of paying for a child’s care onto a person going to prison for a while, coming out in debt and without transportation, while being expected to pay for child support while also paying for their time in prison and having to find work as a felon instead of social security and welfare helping.
Aside from that it also makes no sense. Different punishments for killing different people shouldn’t be a thing. This will 100% be a law that makes sure criminals and felons stay felons and continue to go in for profit prisons while the government ducks out of paying welfare and social security. What a farce.

For these reasons, I’d rather buy Bethesda games. As a company, they aren’t assholes. I’d hate for them to get bought out by ea or something like all the rest.
If you have the 2022 or earlier versions of the earbuds and not their newest ones, you can at least pretty easily replace the batteries in them as they wear out and get old.
Pretty much the only higher end buds that you can do it with.
Same here. The few that are available aside from guineas extra stouts and a couple nationwide coffee/oatmeal stouts are like $16 for four cans. I can’t afford that.
Have to look at the included bands and see if it covers all the bands you Carrier requires. A lot of euro phones won’t work with Verizon for instance, because they don’t include band 13.
*I checked and it doesn’t appear to have the bands included that many of the big carriers in the US use.
I have been using PIA for years and I was thinking of switching to Protons VPN (as well as storage, email and password manager) and I was wondering what everyone else thought of it. Is it as stable and useful as PIA?...
I mostly agree except I drive older vehicles out of warranty. Manuals last longer and are cheaper to fix so depending on what vehicle I’m buying I may look specifically for a manual if it’s a known “weak spot” for that particular vehicle.
As a reminder, the PlayStation Portal, or Project Q, is (according to leaks) based on Android. It doesn’t run the games itself, it merely streams them from your PS5 and your handheld then serves as a controller with its own display....
Standard Bluetooth latency sucks, and would doubly suck having to stream the audio-video to the handheld and then Bluetooth it to the headphones. That’s why high end wireless gaming headsets game with a 2.4ghz dongle instead of using bt.
The thing has an audio jack. You could literally buy wired headphones/earbuds from the damned dollar store if you don’t already have a pair lying around and then have 0 latency. It would be dumb to use anything for a handheld like this besides wired headphones.
I have a steam deck and I’ve used controllers with phone mounts. Even though the overall weight of the SD if much more, it it way more comfortable to play for a long time because the weight is between your hands and not top heavy. Also, your phone is smaller than an 8" screen.
As to who it’s for? Every kid/teen who’d like to play ps5 from their room sometimes, even though the ps5 is set up in the family room. Every time it’s the little brother/sisters turn to have the TV and they want to watch frozen for the 47th time. When your spouse wants to binge watch more of their show on Netflix and you still want to hang out in the same room. When mom or dad want to play GTA 5 without the 7 year old see you beat a hooker with a baseball bat. When you’re sick in bed and still want to game. When you have an addiction and don’t even want to stop playing when you go to take a shit (ew).
No, this isn’t a product for everyone. This is a product for families and couples. And really, it’s not a whole lot of money by today’s standards. It’s $200 and there’s a $70 controller strapped to it. So an extra $130 gets you a screen bigger than your phones in a more comfortable spot for a screen and a battery pack.
Seems like everyone’s batching about it not doing things a switch or steam deck would do, when it’s not trying to be a switch or steamdeck. It just wants to let you play games anywhere in your house without causing problems with anyone else that lives with you.
If I had a PS5 and no steam deck, I’d want one. Half the time I use my steam deck is at home because I want to play some games from a different area of my house.
Ergonomics wise, but can you have those where it can charge it at the same time, do you want to wear out your $1000 cell phone battery, and I doubt any of those controllers work as nicely as a ps5 controller. Plus the screen is smaller and you won’t have a lag free audio jack.
Plus the good ones that you attach to phones are already $100. At that point I’d rather spend an extra $100 to have something better, bigger, and dedicated?
I am in the process of looking between repairing my phone or switching to a new one. And the no brainer evolution to the OnePlus 7 Pro I have is a Pixel phone. If you were in the US I’d recommend you pick up a used Note 20 Ultra that comes with 128GB and an expansion slot for up to another 1TB.
I keep tons of pictures, movies, Netflix downloads, and TV shows on my phone and never touch cloud storage.
Only issue is that outside the US is mostly exynos chips instead of snapdragon and they weren’t nearly as good. Can you import? Would your carrier work with a snapdragon variant?
Not that extreme. Recording alone on a newer phone uses 1GB in 8 minutes and that’s not even 4k.
Then you have games. One of the most popular games in the world is Genshin Impact and its been downloaded 50,000,000+ times from Google play. It also currently needs 20GB of space.
Sure, most people don’t need over 128GB, but ones that do are far from extreme outliers. Personally I travel a lot and don’t usually have consistent data when I do, so I keep a couple hundred gigs of TV shows and movies on my phone to watch, along with games.
