Are there any good recources on how to host you e-mail-server?

I guess slapping it on my local raspberry pi wouldn’t be enough no? So you probably need a quite sophisticated setup so that there are no downtimes?

I haven’t heard of most of your abbreviations/term till now so I guess this will be one of the bigger journeys through the world of IT :)

I do have to say for the purpose of tinkering I love these bigger projects because you learn so much on the way. Now having read your answer I am even more exited to try it out :D

Yes and no. AFAIK when coding assembler for these chips you use CISC-instructions but they get translated into RISC-instructions by a hardcoded mikroprocessing-unit (not sure about the real term). So the processor itself gets RISC-instructions.

IIRC adopting the Euro (and changing the currency oc a country in general) costs a huge amount of money. Additionally the brits probably out a lot of pride in their currency, so the leap from “we’re so great we don’t need the EU and even are better off ourselves” to “we not only need the EU but the Euro as well” is even farther as just adopting a new currency or just reentering.

Ne, hier hast du DEUTLICH mehr Pixel. Einen pro Minute und dann werden sie sogar gestackt, also wenn du keinen setzt kannst du dir bis zu 6 “ansparen”, das dauert dann aber 40min statt 6, ist also nicht so effizient.

Kann aber umso mehr Taktiken für Pixelkriege ermöglichen :D

Meinst du dass ein Lokführer hinter der Windschitzscheibe sitzt?

Da gibts Projekte die dran forschen das alles zu automatisieren (siehe Pressemitteilung und Artikel der WirschaftsWoche).

Scheint aber etwas komplizierter zu sein als bei U-Bahnen weshalb das noch nicht flächendeckend eingesetzt wird.

Ich musste 4:30 aufstehen um ne S-Bahn um 5 zu bekommen. Und wurde von solchen künstlerischen Meisterwerken damit passend eingestimmt :)

Das maimai habe ich dann auch in der S-Bahn verfasst (siehe titel) :D

Bin bei Vodafone und hab natürlivh keine eigene IPv4 (aber IPv6).

Hab mir das so eingerichter wie in diesem Video und das läuft durchaus sehr zuverlässig.

Bei einschlägigen Anbitern zahlst du ja für den billigsten Server auch wirklich kaum was, so 1-2€ pro Monat

Nein. Der ist da schon selbst draufgefahren. Die Wortwahl suggeriert dass der Fahrer damit nichts zu tun hat und keine Verantwortung dafür trägt (weil Sonne).

Morgen sieht ein Autofahrer die Sonne und “landet” in einem Fahrradfahrer…

The nice thing is that you can test out what you like about linux on mint cinnamon.

I installed it to get to know Linux “the soft way” and now love to use the terminal and got to know a buch of underlying concepts and whatnot. And I still use and love mint cinnamon.

A friend installed it and hasn’t configured anything, just uses its GUI and is very happy that way.

So I think the creators really hit the balance of ease of use and possibility to tinker, while ensuring great stability (“it just works”). Big props btw.
