However I understand that building up to that is damn near impossible with the current infrastructure.
Lemmy is still in its infancy. Any community wanting to move somewhere (like lemdro.id did) can still do it as long as they clearly indicate the new home.
Maybe it’s just because there’s less content on Lemmy as of right now, but I remember doomscrolling Reddit, but now I only briefly open Lemmy once or twice a day....
One thing I’m not clear about is the impact my home instance has on me. I joined lemmy.world and am currently using the connect for lemmy app. I know when I sort by Local it will only show me posts from lemmy.world, but beyond that are there any things to keep in mind?...
Hi. I am in the process of migrating from Reddit to Lemmy and created a Sitecore community here. It used to be visible at lemmy.world/c/sitecore but now it, and all my posts are gone....
Hey guys, made an account here. I had originally setup an account on the FMHY instance but its been down for the past half a day or so. Anybody know what’s going on? Were they hacked or something? Or are they just doing some sort of server maintenance?...
My feed is filled with dumb “advices”, so called “professionals” that post the most entry level stuff and all sorts of shit that if I were a recruiter I would stay away from these people
I've recently heard that Tumblr wants to join the #Fediverse, This will be so cool as it would bring so much more content and prove to the wider world that this might be the way to go for social media.
Hey all, Still occasionally dipping into Reddit but am finding myself gradually transitioning to Lemmy (shoutout to Memmy!). I was wondering if anyone here knows, what has reddit traffic been like these last few months? Is it declining or holding strong? Thanks
Actually, that just makes me think that probably those communities should not be added on the LW instance? I remember the admins being quite cautious about piracy.
I’ve been trying to post gifs, but the experience changes from mobile to desktop. Sometimes it appears and plays properly, sometimes it doesnt. Is there a best-practice that I should get used to for formatting, or is there a reliable image hoster that supports it in a way thats compatible with Lemmy?...
If everyone was spread out onto different instances, and communities were based all over the fediverse, the decisions of one instance would be less impactful.
When you notice Lemmy is quieter than usual, then have a look at the Lemmy.world status
Seems like they are under attack again, will those people never stop? I feel sorry for the admin team.
I feel like I'm spending less time on social media after switching to Lemmy

Interesting lemmyverse.net stats from this mornin'

The anti-spez crows likes to paint people who keep using Reddit as sheep. But are there people out there who actually think he’s doing a good job?
What does your 'home' instance really matter?

What thematic instances are there, and what others do you wish there were?

A very cool website, if you will.
Are there any lemmy instances that work as a single "subreddit"?
And which of them are a better alternative than subscribing to a specific community here at lemmy.world?
Anybody know what's going on with the FMHY instance?

reddit fucking destroyed the plex share community.
I’m devastated! Holy fuck it’s the end of such a great resource. Is there any other plex share communities active at all?
