Think about it. Isn’t light+eyes and ears+sound just the same in terms of their “influence at a distance”? We don’t feel that as abnormal or magic - simply because we’ve sensors for them and are used to it. But physically speaking light and magnetism are based on electromagnetic forces.
I actually heard about an experiment with magnets. They implanted them under people’s finger tips or something like that. Think they left it in for a year. They were able to even detect electricity through walls as well. After it was removed they could still do it!
Moissanite is a perfect replacement of a diamond. Definitely agree that it looks great, better off putting the money towards something that will actually enhance your life.
Yup batteries are not the way. By the time the batteries need to be replaced you might have helped slightly but probably not. Batteries is a illusion to going green right now. Just another product that has a demand and an easy market for it.
It’s not chemically addictive. Honestly people should really pointing fingers at smokers. Majority who smoke know the risks. Sugar is far more dangerous yet and they add it to everything. Weed on the other hand can help the majority with far less side effects then prescription pills. I’d take an edible or spray any day. Although it is far more fun to use a bong.
Good meme but honestly when do you see an angry smoker? Even if he breaks his piece, worst that happens is a bummed high.
Not sure I’d agree with any study saying it is physically addictive, habitually I’d agree.
My point on the sugar though is it certainly does create addiction. It’s in so many things even products like jerky. I know lots of other things get broken down into sugar which is also the point. We would do far better without all the added sugar. It’s what creates future diabetics in the first place. There is so much fake healthy foods it’s ridiculous. Like…Wheat bread!? All sugar, better off with white if your gonna bother with bread. You’re body should be running off fat not sugar. People on keto for example can lower their cholesterol immensely vs the doctor recommend way. I’m just having trouble concerning the different between chemical ladden cigarettes vs shit that is available in stores. Now the one thing that I see a negative for weed is that it is a stimulant. Increases in heart rates could be an issue in older folks, for a potentially greater risk of heart attacks.
Air BNBs all the way! I just got back from one in NC mountains. We rented a lodge right next to a river with a cow pasture literally next to the house. Besides a washer and dryer…It had a hammock, fire pit, grill, farm fresh eggs, sweets from a local bakery, plus milk and orange juice and a stocked coffee bar. Then there was also a basket of decent snacks.
The Airbnb before had the same attention to detail but much smaller. They owned most land near the house so they built 2 little cabins near them to rent. This one came with a “free” bottle of whiskey. It also had a Blackstone and fire pit as well.
All hotels offer is the same shitty breakfast foods and coffee. Much rather be enjoying my vacation even if we wanted to spend half the day home at an Airbnb. Can’t beat the perks. Just need to do your homework, not all Airbnb’s are shitty rented side rooms. For the last 5 years my extended family and I had rented several houses big enough for the 9 of us. All with plenty to do around the house when you need a break from driving, hiking, restaurants and shopping.
To someone who is subscribed to multiple communities on Reddit, has there been any change in their feed in their quality or amount of posts since July 1st? Any change in the amount of comments in the posts? Even the number of community subscribers?...
Google is way to compliant to DMCA request resulting in bad result. Bing doesnt seems to care and will happily link to live and replay of sport event (the main reason I use it personnaly) even as a first result....
Yup, honestly haven’t seen much difference at all when I switched a few years ago. But thanks to this post I learned about SearX. Gonna give that try now. Curious though if using a browser like Chrome for example, would make it a pointless? That’s what drew me to duck since they have their own app.
I just figured if you’re trying to avoid google then using their own browser might have some risk too. But I don’t know for sure if they still able to track anything you do on an alternative search website.
As Lemmy starts maturing, there starts being so many communities out there that it’s pretty hard to keep track. I’ve been browsing for about a month now, here’s a list of popular communities I’ve subscribed to that others would find interesting!...
True, though between my wife and I, we do to much of our shopping on there. Which I know is WORSE. Love to ditch that too but that is gonna be a slower progress to ditching then Netflix. Their history of cancelling shows and prices hikes makes it easier.
Magnetism only feels like magic, because we don't have biological sensors for it

Unpopular opinion : Bing is a better search engine than Google when it comes to piracy

Obviously the answers here might be a bit lower than other places…
