Most of that is really old knowledge from before the days of sophisticated charge controllers.

Which is why the charge controller does not do it. It will drop to a sustainable voltage when it detects longer wired connection after being charged and adjusts the "percentage" it shows you accordingly so you still see a 100 to 0.

Contemporary smartphones tend to push things a bit harder to offer the "best" performance in the first few weeks. Though I have to say comparing today's newest phones with phones from 2015, battery management has gotten a lot softer.

I wish I could. I see that people do some amazing stuff with the right equipment. But I have neither the equipment or money for it nor the space. Also I fear to be too afraid to really interact with anyone even in VR.

People largely overrate 4chan in this regard. Judging the whole community by /pol/ while it is more like /po/ overall.

lemmy.ml is no longer shadowbanning kbin. (lemmy.ml)

Apparently one of the lemmy.ml admins was overzealous in banning all User-Agent strings that contained the word "bot". Bans were entered for all of the individual strings containing that word which were observed in their webserver logs, which impacted kbin's reported agent of "kbinBot"....

A community and its direction is though largely depending on the Admins.
Just recently some tankie posted a "meme" on "meme" that just casually tried to claim the Rothschild Family was intertwined with western media and because of that western media bad, just the casual antisemitism. And the Admins did not care.

I would never recommend a Windows user KDE, they would think this Linux thing is much worse then Windows. KDE simply said is trash, a buggy mess beyond reason and a very poorly made Windows clone.

I think I know what you mean by "look like a Mac", but there is no similarity beside that there is some kind of slim bar on the top and some kind of app icon thingy elsewhere on the screen. But then you could call Android "Mac" look either, or many of the interfaces designed in the time of the netbook craze which is where the Gnome 3 interface originated.

But ya know what, not even KDE makes me wanna smash my head against a wall until I pass out, only Windows can do that.

Honestly KDE 4 > KDE 5. And every time I have to use the desktop on my steam deck, I wanna cry. Thankfully I have to less and less. Basically not at all anymore except for file management, that's still a sore spot.
