? I’ve Shadow Dance by Christine Feehan ( 8/Shadow Riders). The series moves from Chicago to New York. More secrets of the mysterious worldwide shadow riding past & present are revealed. TW for discussion of past child abuses. This Feehan series has fewer horror elements than some others. Recommend to start with book 1. @romancebooks @bookstodon

Lynnea Lee’s Xarc’n Warriors is my 1st or 2nd top post-apocalyptic alien series. In this 9th , Desired By The Hunter, both MCs have to get over the pre-conceptions and out of their heads to decide to be together. (It’s saying a lot that I’ll say this is 1 or 2 bc I absolutely detest insects.) @romancebooks

I’ve Before The Storm by Montana Fyre (Frost Industries 4). This crime boss / mafia is a human trafficking rescue (good mafia vs bad). Starts on FMC’s 18th birthday. @romancebooks

4 of us met last night for dinner, drinks, & discussion about Demon Copperhead. 3/4 loved it, one thought it too depressing to finish. I thought it was incredible & easily gave it 5 stars.

Next up for book club: Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz.

I have, I think, read at least 3. This one, Moonflower Murders and Stormbreaker. Can't recall them now. 2022 is so long ago in book years. Lol

@writerlane @bookstodon I'm excited to read it. I've been interested in starting it for a long time, just kept putting it off. Found a copy today in the bargain section, couldn't say no, apparently the time has come.

I as A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert. I read the a few years ago, but this was my 1st listen. FMC is autistic, but only 1 mention that seems to fly right over the MC’s head. Maybe this is common in the UK, but it’s literally the only thing that bugs me about this otherwise perfect book (that he doesn’t seem to connect that word to her quirkiness). @bookstodon @romancebooks

I’ve the His Human Neighbor by Michelle Mills, from the Monsters Love Curvy Girls series. I’ve found this entire series to be lovely, with consistently unique language conventions. This features a single dad trope. @bookstodon

I have been trying to find something to read, but nothing is standing out to me. I guess I am in a slump of some sort. Any recommendations are welcome. I read just about anything, but very little fantasy. I enjoy nonfiction especially nature or social justice focused. I love middle grade books and some YA. So throw anything at me and maybe I will find something to get me out of this slump.

Finished the #audiobook of Never Seduce A Scot by Maya Banks. This is a repeat #read for me. The heroine is deaf and the age is before sign language. Middle Ages Scotland also means violence, a lack of modern healthcare, and forced marriage. Recommend it. #book #books #reading #tomance #romancelandia #bookstodon @bookstodon

I the 38 hr of Debt of Honor by Tom Clancy. This 6th in the Jack Ryan series is really important to the overall plot arc of Ryan’s life. I am not going to wax on about the highs or lows of it, but if you read any of this series as a standalone, this is the one to invest in. I have an economics degree & think this might be very difficult to parse in places. @bookstodon

ElleSabine,
@ElleSabine@romancelandia.club avatar

@Borg @bookstodon oh I love Red October, I just think this one is the most critical to the plot. The Sun of All Fears may be the most important for character development. But Red October is the best written and the best read overall.
