is it weird that people buy old tapes and undeveloped films of people who are v old or possibly deceased only to develop it and share it on social media without permission? I guess if someone found my diary years after my passing, it would be okay. There is always an urge to be remembered. But being remembered and being turned into content are separate things. Technically it isn't wrong I suppose. This stuff is in the public domain. But it still makes me feel weird. Thoughts ?

Savarna pet owners won't let domestic workers sleep/sit on the bed/couch but would gladly allow their dogs to lie everywhere. What a brilliant way to out yourself as a casteist! they'll fight for the right for pets to use the main lift and not the service lift.

this season of Doctor Who is going to require so much suspension of disbelief. 🫣 It is absurd, but it doesn't mock itself unlike the Marvel's brand of humour. It's unserious, but sincere and I have forgotten that type of treatment exists.

I've been boycotting certain brands and it's not that difficult, esp in India. You simbly don't need them. There are great alternatives for them that aren't mass manufactured fast food. Instead of ordering McD or Starbucks (which I didn't do a lot anyway), I've been eating poha or idli as much as possible (for the days I cannot cook). We learned the importance of Boycott Movement as children, and although the nature of capital has evolved quite a bit, it doesn't hurt to try.

Also boycotting for different people happens at different levels depending on geography and money and time, etc etc. Most things we think we cannot live without, we absolutely can. It's very straightforward.

Stumbled across an insta profile belonging to Rob (the host of Pogo's M.A.D. (Music, Art, Dance) from the 2000s), made me remember and wonder how good we had it, that a private channel did a large-scale well-budgeted children's show specifically meant to nurture children's artistic sensibilities.

Have kids in the 2010s or this decade had anything like that? I hope so, but because it's out of my demographic I don't really know.
