Sunny Ade & His Green Spot Band - The Master Guitarist Vol. 1 (African Songs Ltd, 1970). More raw than his better-known 80s records, but already a potent rhythmic and lyrical force.

@Whiskeyomega @vinylrecords my friend Joe would be interested in this as he has a large collection covering these folks & associated. We'll be seeing QotSA at Wembley Arena next month and he saw Mondo Generator play locally to us on a small stage the other month.

King Crimson - Lark’s Tongue In Aspic; Starless and Bible Black @vinylrecords

I have been passively looking for these in the shops since returning to vinyl collecting and have never seen a copy worth considering. I finally went the discogs route where there are hundreds for sale. Not sure why they never show up in shops. Classic albums. Starless is easily my favorite album.

@icastico @vinylrecords I see American pressings all the time but, man, they are always thrashed.

rudi_h,
@rudi_h@mastodon-belgium.be avatar

@icastico @vinylrecords In my experience selling vinyl records to shops is not worth the effort. They offer you at most 1/3 of the median selling price on Discogs. Most of the times even less. I wouldn’t offer them my collection. That’s why collectible records only show up at Discogs, Ebay, or at record fairs, where prices are at the same level as on Discogs but you save on shipping costs.

Emerson, Lake, & Palmer (s/t) @vinylrecords

The second album I owned (Stevie Wonder Talking Book was the 1st), this was the first record I paid my own money for - with a bag of pennies. I ended up owning all of ELP’s work eventually. This one and Trilogy hold up the best imho.

Roofhare,
@Roofhare@mastodon.social avatar

@icastico @vinylrecords how interesting, Talking book was my first bought album too! But I got into ELP quite a bit later. Cheers!

I used to have them all on vinyl. Now the only one I have is Trilogy digitally. It was the first i bought and always my favourite.

My first and pairing in months, maybe longer.

At the request of Record Club owner, Peter Zimmerman, to celebrate the Chrylo "Pilot" vinyl release, I created the below pairing.

The beer is Master of Oranges by - Double IPA - 8.4%

Check out this fantastic Future Funk vinyl release, and grab yourself a copy, on their now!

gnitro,

@klausman @vinylrecords just says music from all the series sessions. So probably music that didn't make it, or other versions of songs.
