shortwavesurfer, in [Req] Show Downvotes Separately

If you open a post it shows them, but in feed view it shows them added together.

unexposedhazard, in [Req] Show Downvotes Separately

It already does that no? Or do you mean in the feed view?

Skyline,

Yes, I mean in the main feed.

@wisefoolkp@lemmy.world avatar

Any way to download link header images?

Also, this is unrelated to post, but what I would really like is a synchronized inbox for all logged in instances. Only the in box. I wonder if that is even possible. Loving the app

darklightxi,

Feel free to create a new issue on GitHub if possible for these suggestions! This helps gain visibility on these suggestions and helps us better track them without getting lost

Nah, this is kinda one of the big differences for which i prefer thunder. I like the post density it brings. If you want your big image card views there are lots of lemmy apps out there that have this layout.

beta_tester,

We’ve got that already. It’s a mix of both.

hatchet, in y tho

Do you have a custom DNS set up on this device?

EsteemedRectangle, in y tho

I know that Mali, which owns the .ml TLD, had been reclaiming many of those domain names lately. lemmy.ml/post/2286939

Could be related to that?

Throwaway2D,

I was also thinking the same, but why is this only happening when trying to log in through an app? Visiting lemmy.ml with any browser still works

Plus I managed to log in using Thunder on a different device, but not on this one

HonkTonkWoman,

Are you able to login to that instance with a different client on the same device?

Just curious, wish I could be more help. I went through the same thing three times before I realized I misspelled my instance.

Throwaway2D,

Yes, I can using Voyager or any browser really

teichflamme, in Is there a way within Thunder to search posts (not communities)?

Second that. Important feature.

Not yet. If there isn’t one already, create a feature request on the GitHub.

scytale, in Swiping out of post view no longer works after 0.2.2

It works for me but I disabled actions on the LTR swipe for now because I keep accidentally upvoting or downvoting comments when I try to swipe back to my feed. I noticed it takes a specific kind of swipe action for it to work and I need to get used to it to make it repeatable. I don’t upvote/downvote in the first place anyway, so I don’t mind disabling LTR swipe actions.

d000d,

Turning off the gestures as noted make swiping back out of a post must easier!

p_consti, in Does Thunder support multiple instances?

You can go to your profile (middle tab), then switch accounts via the button in the top right

Vittelius, in Any way to change the embedded browser?

Make Firefox your default browser in the OS settings

It is, but it still opens in Chrome.

MentalEdge,
@MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz avatar

Not for me… Try disabling Chrome on your phone, this should force web-view to fall back to something else.

This worked, thank you!

Thundernerd, in Thunder is now on the App Store

Since I tend to go by Thundernerd I feel like I have to try it out.

Like the others mentioned, the UI is refreshing, it feels slick!

ETA: I do notice a tiny bit of stutter when scrolling. Not quite sure why that happens.

BinarySystem,
@BinarySystem@partizle.com avatar

The scrolling stutter on the feed can be smoothed out a bit by disabling external link previews. There is a bit of an overhead constantly calling out to external sites to scrape for an image to show. As for the comment feed. I think it could be better and I’m hoping it’s something we can improve on.

Thundernerd,

Oh neat, I’ll try that out! To be good, they are only minor things :D

BinarySystem,
@BinarySystem@partizle.com avatar

Your comment led me to take another look at where we display external links and I think there is an improvement that can be made. Currently that option I mentioned disables all external link thumbnails. But what we should do instead is only disable the image scraping and still show the thumbnails if Lemmy has them. Expect a fix soon :)

nonearther, in thunder is perfect

As a current Thunder and previous Syncfor Reddit user, I can understand Sync’s charm.

It’s a lot polished, the most polished Lemmy client right now. There’s absolutely no lag with weird config (e.g. link preview for Thunder), hell lot of customisation, ability to backup and restore settings, ability to parse virtually any links within Sync and even provide download option, etc.

Sunc benefits from using same old codebase with backend tweaking to Lemmy.

Thunder will ultimately catch up to that, but saying Thunder is current state is perfect and matches up with Sync in features is big hyperbole.
