Useful new Decky Plugin: Battery Tracker ( github.com )
Battery tracker is a new plugin that seems pretty useful. Gives a chart of tracked battery levels, but more importantly it tracks the average power draw of the different games you run....

An alternative SteamOS-like distro built on Fedora for Steam Deck and Desktop
The 256GB and 512GB Steam Decks come with some digital rewards, such as an exclusive steam profile customization bundle and a unique virtual keyboard (keyboard is 512GB only). Previously these rewards were not available to refurbished deck buyers, but Valve plans to change that and make these rewards available regardless of...
I have found myself using my Steam Deck for everything. I sit at that old desk and play Counter-Strike when I’ve got time. I use it for paperwork as well....
I don’t get it but for some reason the 3d open world multiplayer shooter with vehicles and long view distances that runs the best on the steam deck (other than a very graphically simple game like battlebit) is DayZ. I obviously haven’t tried every game out there though…...
Hello folks,...
I just ordered a refurbished steam deck :D...
SteamOS 3.4.11 has been released to the Stable channel for Deck with the following changes:...
Do you need to leave the Steam Deck open to download something on i.e. Firefox in desktop mode or will it just download perfectly in standby mode? I know that it’s basically a PC and it should work but since I’m planning to get one I want to be sure.
Probably the easiest way to run it is with Vinegar, a Wine wrapper for Roblox. You can just install it from Flathub (or Discover on Steam Deck in Desktop Mode), make a configuration file in terminal to set it to Vulkan and then you’re good to go after that:...
Hey, I use a lot my steam deck as a PC, but everytime there is a “new” sound (I start a video, a game, i change some setting etc) there is a sound coming from the speaker. (Like when you plug a cable jack with the speaker on). Is there a way to fix this ?
Hi all, I have an interesting issue that I’m hoping can be solved. I have a pair of Anker Soundcore A40 earbuds and they connect fine to the Deck. However the Deck doesn’t pick up on the microphone input at all - I’ve had a look under input devices and it fails to show up. Is there anything I can do (packages, drivers etc)...
I have recently upgraded my SSD in the Steam Deck to a 1TB one and created a 300GB Windows partition on it to be able to play Genshin Impact. So far so good, that is working as it should....
Feels like I’ve tried everything except changing the proton version. I’m playing on an OLED if that makes a difference.
Now that I have my new Oled, I’m wondering what would be good video settings for BG3. I can set the preset to ultra and it seems to offer no performance problem, but I wonder if vsync fsr2 etc should be set? How can I get the most amazing BG3 setup?
Hey I was wondering if anyone knows how I can change the default keyboard....
What’s the steam launch command to run Mainline Yuzu Appimage with a specific rom automatically?
So I’ve been looking for a nice relaxing and/or easy game. Placid Plastic Duck simulator is now on sale. Steam says it’s Playable, but it isn’t listed as having controller support. Does anybody have experience with this game on Deck? Does it require keyboard mapping? Is there a community layout?...
Excluding adding an external keyboard and mouse, what quality of life changes can be made to the deck to make keyboard and mouse work less terrible?
New update adds controller support, fixes performance problems in some areas, and added some other new content. The game is now Steam Deck Verified....
I was wondering if anyone has tried upgrading the textures on Skyrim? Is it possible to do this without affecting the performance too much on Steam Deck?...
My steps, if anyone has to replicate. I’m not sure if everyone will start from here… it’s possible that you already have the prerequisite installed from another game. But I’ll give my fix path in case anyone starts from the same place I did....
