It looks amazing so far! I have to admit I got a bit overwhelmed with the blackwork tarot card so I’ve put it on hold for a bit, but I’m going to finish it up soon hopefully!
Understandable! Sometimes you need a break and to just do something else for a bit, this is my excuse for always having so many projects on the go at once 😄
I’m taking the advice I got from one of your videos and using DMC branded floss on the new piece I just started instead of the floss from that cheap multipack I bought and it is making a WORLD of difference lol
Woop, congrats! Can’t say I was ever a fan of DBZ or even really know what the characters are beyond recognising some names (don’t judge me!), but I do enjoy how miffed he looks 😆
Thanks! I’ve found the #FallFinishAlong over on Mastodon to be very motivational in terms of at least pulling out these old hibernating projects, even if I have no chance of actually finishing them during the event. Still, progress is progress 😅
I just filled in some small parts on the back with sharpie to just kind of feather out the difference. I thought about doing the whole thing but I realized it would be overkill, and the sharpie smell was starting to get to me lol
Seems like it’s worked well then, if I didn’t already know about the issue I’d never have picked it out from this photo. Hope you never need to wash it 😬
I find that light-colored jeans (light blue wash, or something) are so cute for embroidering flowers and bees and silly little things onto. I’ve tried embroidering flowers onto a black jacket I have, but it didn’t look as good. I guess the black was too saturated, or something.
Yeah, that must be it. I don’t have any neon embroidery thread, do you? Just old basic kits from childhood, plus some nice colors I might see in the store and buy individually.
None that are actually neon, but I have some that are pretty close. I know DMC has some true neons that I may end up getting, but I’m in full fall mode with my crafts so everything is pumpkin and olive green and eggplant right now.
Bit of a crap photo, I’ve got a cold and have no energy to actually move or set up a nice view of it, or in fact to even tighten the fabric in the hoop. But I’m working on a little sunset pattern design that is supposed to go live on Friday and now on Wednesday I’m testing different colours because of course I am. Thankfully it’s going to be a quick stitch, but still. Holy last-minute-itis.
What count fabric is your greenhouse on? I keep meaning to ask but get distracted. Also have you given any thought to how you’ll finish it? It’s such a cool piece, definitely needs to be displayed with pride!
Oh no! Colds are the worst! I hope you feel better soon. The sunset has some Outrun aesthetic vibes. I really like it!
What count fabric is your greenhouse on?
I meant to get 18 count but 16 was what they had in stock with the colour I liked so 16 it is. I’m glad I picked it because it feels so nice to work with, the grid also helped me immensely. As for finishing, I think I’ll go with an ornate Victorian-style frame. It really depends on what I find and how much they’re going to charge me. My local store works frames for dirt cheap so they’re the first place to ask.
I think in these times of rarely catching anything I’d forgot just how rotten a basic cold can make you feel 😭 Well on the mend now though, it was worth it to spend my bestie’s bday weekend with her!
Love the sound of that frame plan, dirt cheap is my kind of price.
