They’ve changed their ToS recently to ban NSFW content (which isn’t an issue for me) but will also be less likely to hold onto anonymously-uploaded pics in general, so unless I keep a bunch of random screenshots saved to an imgur account posts like this will probably just go kaput out of nowhere!
It also sucks, but it’s not oppression. Certainly nothing like the ACTUAL oppression suffered by women and minorities just trying to live their lives, make their own decisions and control their own lives.
I kind of get the outrage. It’s continuing the charade of women and men being competitive at a pro level. If they wanted to add women, they should have made the game mode require a full roster of men and women with matches randomly selecting which team is used. That would probably draw attacks of EA being greedy bastards forcing people to buy more loot boxes, but that seems like valid criticism either way.
It feels like the laziest way possible to pander to an audience. Women’s soccer is definitely growing, but this doesn’t seem like a real endorsement. EA gets all the credit and can quietly phase out women players if it actually becomes a problem.
That said I never played fifa, and won’t play this so I don’t really care either way.
Why did you see “don’t harass employees” as “don’t offer criticism”? You can pretty easily say “I don’t like X about this game,” or “change Y seems like a step in the wrong direction” without harassing anyone.
When someone doesn’t listen to feedback or worse, derides them for even providing it people tend to get upset.
I have not condoned death threats, other threats of violence or harm and don’t intend to.
I don’t even play Destiny (1 or 2).
I’m just voicing my opinion that there’s a pattern between devs who believe community criticism is beneath them and people working themselves into a frenzy.
I hate myself for knowing this, because it shows how stupidly online I am but...
Pretty sure this is a screenshot from a subreddit called /r/KotakuInAction
I don't really know the history but apparently the people behind it played a part in some drama called "gamergate" years ago.
The upvote/downvote icons are the communities "mascot", an invented character called "vivian james" (as in vidya games, which is used on 4chan to say video games??).
Don't think she is considered a loli.
Anyway, there is your context and rough estimate on where to put this crowd. I will try to touch some grass now and make this info leave my head again.
