Nice! I just picked up my first Sailor pen (Profit Black Luster) and the trim is very pretty. Enjoying the 21k nib quite a bit.

I recall you buying it and I’m glad you like it so far. Did you get a converter in the end?

By the way, we discussed being selective about the ink used to try to protect the ion plating. Also avoid flossing the tines if you can or working on the nib with micromesh or fine grit paper as there are theories that it can weaken the plating along the edges and risk flaking outward from those points.

I found the new FP user intro stuff over there very useful, and many of the guides (eg guide to Chinese fountain pens, etc) were great. If we could recreate some of that, would be awesome!

It’s comfortable for me to hold. The clip controversy is why I wanted to hold one in my hands first before I got one.

Oh it’s all coming together now. Work trip = an actual FP store nearby to try in person. How was that experience? I’ve only ever shopped online :(

Went to Fahrney’s in DC. It was amazing. So many pens to look and and hold. Highly recommend the in person experience.

I went with the fine nib cause I wanted it small but was afraid extra fine would feel a little scratchy. after trying it and it felt like writing with butter I kinda wanna try a extra fine sometime 😅 ordered mine online so i couldn’t try them out but i am very happy with it! kinda feel bad my other pens get so little use now 😁

It’s a fine nib! It’s not reaaallly as fine as I’d prefer (I’m weird and kinda like scratchy pens lol) but it’s still good!
