@rekindled What is meditation? You need to look the answer in yourself. It is self knowledge. If you read or learn what is from other people, you become confused. Nobody can teach what is meditation only yourself.
I found it weird, that people who called them mindfull( gurus) can't answer this simple question:
What is, at the present, humanity's purpose of life?

I started with guided meditations. Body scan, visualization, yoga and thai chi work well for me. White noise helps me relax and focus. As an anchor I tend use my breath.

Will try a fidget toy and moving slowly to music. Thanks for these ideas.

@rekindled @actuallyautistic Thank you for this. I took Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course a few years ago and it was helpful, but can no longer seem to access the benefits I used to get. Now I just feel agitated when I try. I’ll give some of your suggestions a try.
