In this thread: examples of characters who offended the precious sensibilities of right wing clowns. That's the common thread of 90% of examples if not more.
J. Bruce Ismay was chairman of the White Star Line and passenger aboard the Titanic on the night it sank. He's been given a lot of shit throughout history for cheaping out on safety features of the ship, such as not carrying enough lifeboats, using cheap parts and manufacturing that contributed to the sinking, and insisting the ship move at full speed through ice fields to break records. He also took a seat on a lifeboat, saving himself at the cost of another passenger.
Except it's all bullshit.
Titanic did not cheap out on parts. It was a top of the line ship with industry leading safety features. There is no evidence that Ismay was pushing the ship to break any records. It wasn't even a ship built for speed, focusing more on oppulance and luxury. While Titanic didn't have enough lifeboats, it did carry more than it was legally required to. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, as they didn't have enough time to launch the lifeboats they had. And Ismay didn't "steal" a lifeboat spot. Most early lifeboats were being launched way below capacity, as people didn't want to get on them (believing that the ship wouldn't sink, or wouldn't sink before a rescue ship would arrive to save them). Ismay took a lifeboat seat because one was available. He didn't steal it. The only thing Ismay really did wrong is not die that night as the public felt he ought to have.
The first method is what everyone usees for kbin magazines. I've never seen where it's clarified, though. I would bet you can't pick a username on an instance where a magazine has that name.
when i do reply it does the same with your name, while magazines also have the "@kbin.social tag"
so what i think /kbin does is (as you said same function), user first, magazine second.. that's why i also said "ofc if this is possible somehow.. i don't think what i do is intended for magazines" on the bottom :)
/kbin is new, so most magazines are empty af like your statistics already states <3
also some magazines are (kinda useless? i think..) since they also exist on other instances.. but i like local magazines a lot more anyways 😁
but back to the quesion: linux, gamingonlinux, the most "weird" aesthetic magazines and also most creativity magazines about art and storywriting/self-written novels about all kind (i prefer dark mystic storys).
i think a good start would if i/we do begin to post to these magazines soon, atm i'm/we kinda just watch 'em (most of us?).
Any normal human being can be a bloodthirsty beast when he's a part of a group. The group effect demultiplicate the violence of their members and can lead them to acts that they would never do when isolated. Really terrifying mechanism.
NCIS follows your request for several seasons before starting to run dry on serialized plot and leaning on character-driven subplots for a while. Then it eventually recovers after a couple more seasons and gets back on its feet.
I saw a photo of a chemical burn victim on r/eyeblech. The story goes that this guy cheated on his wife, and his wife found out. So she poured acid on his crotch. The acid had burned his scrotum away, but the balls themselves were still relatively intact. Each was just hanging from it's respective tendril and resting against the burns on his legs.
That was the worst I've seen on a gore level. But I've seen some things that are worse on an emotional level.
Back when I was badly suicidal few years back, I went looking for suicide videos to get a more grounded understanding of what it's like. I found a site with a lot of them. Won't be giving out the name, cause you shouldn't look for shit like this.
I remember seeing one of an Indian guy jumping from a high roof. He didn't really move much in midair, he looked stiff and only squirmed a bit. When he landed it was just a relatively quiet thud and a crunch. He bounced once off the dirt. That one stuck with me the most.
Another that really got me was of an Asian who'd jumped onto train tracks. The train had cut his legs off, but he was still alive. In too much shock to do anything but lie there and look around at the people around him.
Then there's the guy who got his head chopped off with a machete.
Remnants of a suicide bomber splattered across a street.
Then those videos on YouTube, mostly just audio. The brick and windshield. The girl calling the police because her brother shot himself. The audio ones comfort me in a way, but at first they really unsettled me.
Come to think of it, I've seen far to many of these... I definitely saw them at way too young an age
