I relate to that, needles in the palate/gums is no fun...
My most painful experience though was when my kneecap dislocated and stuck to the side of my leg. Happened twice in my life. The first time when I was ice skating and the second just climbing stairs. Had to take an ambulance trip to the hospital :/
I strongly recommend deepl.com It’s by far the best among the ones I tried. It can translate using the appropriate wording for the context and it also has a section (deepl write, accessible from the topbar) where you can past your english texts and get better wording.
Also the free plan covers most use cases. If you need the pro it’s worth it imo
Peter: I'm looking for some toilet training books. Salesman: We have the popular 'everybody poops", or the less popular 'nobody poops but you'. Peter: Well, you see, we're catholic... Salesman: Ah, then you'll want 'you're a naughty, naughty boy, and that's concentrated evil coming out the back of you'.
Bc not all of them know how. some people just started magazines bc they were told "is there no magazine for that thing u like? Just make it yourself!" which doesnt necessarily mean they know how to moderate a community or even do custom CSS.
Some mods are literally just there to moderate. Others were there for CSS stuff and bot functionality. I imagine more of the latter will come over when it becomes unwieldy to do those things on the platform, and hopefully kbin will be more accepting to that functionality in the future.
One of my favorite features about Calckey is the ability to mute words. I think Mastodon allows it, too, and I used to make use of the word filter on Reddit as well. Maybe one day kbin will include it or perhaps it's hidden somewhere I missed and some helpful person will kindly point the way.
It's great for situations like this. I use it to filter out dog posts because I have a traumatic past with them and I know I'll never convince people to quit putting dogs literally everywhere, but I don't have to see nearly as many of those posts with a good filter setup.

There’s been kind of a “last week of school before summer vacation” vibe, which I suspect is related in part to the overall weirdness of this moment as reddit partially collapses and the Fediverse figures out how to absorb the influx of new users and, I dunno, I figure everyone is just feeling kind of impish and punchy.
Anyway I’m a humorless old person and unfond of scatological humor in general, so I emphatically share your sentiment. I suspect it’ll die down shortly, though. In the meantime I hope the literal shitposters are at least enjoying themselves. Everybody’s gotta blow off steam from time to time.
+1 for goo gone/mineral oil, but you can also try a plastic scraper for the majority, then wipe away with either: acetone (nail polish remover), rubbing alcohol/vodka, or even tape itself (masking/packing/duct tape). Good luck 👍🏼
I'm a bit too late to the party, but i will tell you about what i use.
I use a wireless IP camera from Reolink. You can use any camera really.
Then I purchased a license for Blue Iris, so i have that running on my computer downstairs.
Blue Iris is so under-rated. Its really good, there's a setting for anything you can think of and quite advanced motion detectors.
Thank you for the suggestion regarding the hardware. Two follow-up questions:
Would you mind letting me know the model of the camera you're using?
Blue Iris sounds awesome! But it also sounds like quite a bit of compute is required to run it. Is that true? Or could I also run in on a RPi, maybe even with Coral AI stick?
