Here’s some other ideas that’ll turbocharge this green transition:
Get the Shetland to Scotland interconnect upgraded so they don’t have to keep switching off the turbines because they’re generating more power than Shetland consumes and can be transmitted back to the mainland.
Artificial energy islands off the north coast of Scotland to connect large amounts of wind turbines.
Approve and accelerate Viking Link to build out the future energy market with Norway.
Co-design and co-finance huge shared north sea wind farms with Norway.
Significantly increase taxes on capital gains with an exemption for green power investments. Stand back and watch how quickly private capital can move to fund large projects when properly incentivised.
Work with the City (of London) to create funds for people to invest via LISAs, Investment ISAs, and Pensions that fuel a new UK citizen owned green energy company. Stand back and watch as a new generation get wealthy the same way previous ones did when British Gas was privateised. Socilise the risk, socilise the profits.
Downside is, every time you play Tetris to prevent PTSD, it causes you to remember all the traumatic shit that ended up tucked away in the back of your brain from all those previous times you played Tetris to avoid PTSD.

After reading this I thought there must be a nice and simple Tetris game in the play store. Boy was I wrong. I think some guy has a “block puzzle” empire and has just rereleased the same tetris clone game a hundred times. And official Tetris is a total abomination of unlocks and achievements.
I went through a similar thing, conclusion I came to was that as Tetris is so popular, the owners of the IP have it on lockdown… it is quite a specific IP that’s kinda hard to do something similar-but-the-same.
Options I came up with were pirating a copy, or xbox game pass (iirc Tetris Effect is available there). Or… are there any Gameboy emulators that run on mobile?
There’s as many gb emulators as possible, for a while i used nostalgia emulator (great ui and functional save state feature) but you can also run retroarch and other multiemulators. The one thing you need is the rom, but that is another story.
There are three main Tetris games as far as playability goes.
Classic Tetris for NES where you play with your foot
Tetris effect where handling and graphics are decent
Tetr.io where speed is everything
Notable mentions
Tetris 99 - tetris for Nintendo switch
PuyoPuyo tetris - sometimes you play puyopuyo sometimes you play tetris
I’m glad I decided to re-read the comments on this, as someone with aphantasia who really struggles with spatial stuff… WHAT THE FUCK, you weren’t exaggerating haha
I remembered as a bored primary school kid circa 2004 discovering my dad’s old OG Game Boy from 1989 and playing the hell out of the bundled Tetris game.
I’ve actually been playing Tetris non stop since the first Trump mug shot post I saw, my stress level dropped, I almost forgot it… Then I came back and the second post I saw was a Trump mugshot… Back to the drawing board.
Sadly, I think we’re going to see that picture a lot over the years. I hope the next defining image of him features a jumpsuit that matches his spray tan.
