As for the movie, I saw her live and by far one of those shows that you just will have an anchoring memory too. She’s clearly a showman, she put meticulous detail into every step, every note. I do wish she had been a bit more personal, but she went for 3.5 hours of songs, can’t blame her for needing to power through it all.
I personally won’t be going to the movie, but will enjoy it at home when it comes out on my sound system, very excited for that! I hope everyone who goes has fun!
Never seen any of these movies, but the ads I’ve been seeing online make it look terrible. Like in the ads, any time Denzel is being an action hero, it reminds me of lazy Steven Seagal. And the rest is just people sitting down and talking to each other trying to look edgy.
I agree, the first Equalizer was the kind of movie that you can just mindlessly watch and still be entertained. The second one was the kind that is so ridiculous that it just takes you out of the movie every few minutes. And not in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way.
You’re so right. The first one is fantastic. The character study of a OCD assassin was so interesting. And Denzel is such a great actor. The second one sucked. Magnificent 7 was…okay. I saw this one last night because I really want Antone Fuqua and Denzel to recreate that magic but it felt like they both mailed it in on this one.
Bottom line: Good storyline that fit right in with the old school equalizer books and tv show while a neat twist that tied it to this movie trilogy but was just kinda…meh.
Blue Beetle is closer to Cyborg from Tean Titans than Ant Man. At least it looks like this iteration anyway, which would be based on the third version of the character.
He gets his suit via a Scarab in his spine that sheilds him in nanotechnology.
He has the ability to neturalize magic, which is a prevalent power in the DC universe.
Flies with wings.
Can use electromagnetic abilities from the nanotechnology. Can also create sheilds.
I much prefer the second Blue Beetle; Ted Kord, who is more like Batman.
Gunn has stated that this Blue Beetle is the first character in the rebooted universe, there is a stinger in the credits hinting at the return of Ted Kord and a Booster Gold HBO Max show is on the list.
He’s just called “The Atom”, actually. And I mean, isn’t it just an opinion? I think both can be silly, considering both essentially do the same things.
No. Ant Man can shrink while maintaining his original mass. Fun with Pym Particles.
This Blue Beetle, the 3rd, merges with an alien super weapon in the form of a scarab. The scarab uses nanites to give him super powers, flight, strength, minor invulnerability, and the power to craft weapons on an as needed basis.
The previous Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, ran around with Batman style tech maybe 20 years before, only not as good. LOL. He also had a flying beetle ship called the Bug. This version of the character was the basis for Nite Owl in Watchmen.
The other previous Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, discovered the scarab in an arcaeological dig and it gave him mild invulnerability, flight and energy blasts.
Meme communities are by far the most popular on the site, and will likely remain very popular at the least as it grows. Lots of other content is out there, but you have to curate your subscriptions and use that view to not have it drowned out.
I’ll watch this with a degree of caution. I remember really enjoying the first two but they toned down the violence for the third to get a lower rating and I think the film suffered as a result.
