Own 8/10 - assuming you count Phantom Liberty different from CP; finished 7/10 (likewise PL), mostly before this decade. Some of them before 2010. I wonder if I can still find my Baldur’s Gate CDs…
Had no idea Sony were releasing their PC ports on GOG now too, albeit later than Steam. Good to see they recognise an appetite for alternative/non-store binding releases.
I feel like this game was the free monthly game around the original release of Cyberpunk and it surprised me by how great it was, pretty straightforward as a post zombie apocalypse survival shooter but they just got the vibe exactly right
I loved how it had the storylines clearly set up in a way that felt like it valued my time and it wasn’t littered with bullshit to do like all the Ubisoft games. There was a couple of optional things like the Nero cases for the upgrades and the landmark things just for fun but that was basically it. Every camp you cleared felt meaningful and stayed cleared once it was done. I honestly loved this game.
Looking through the best seller list I saw spore and man I really wish someone would give that game another go. It was fun, but had issues obviously like the overselling of features.
For all you Linux folks complaining about why GOG isn’t on there:
For desktop and laptop computers, Microsoft's Windows is the most used at 69%, followed by Apple's macOS at 17%, and Google's ChromeOS at 3.2% (in the US up to 8.0%), and "desktop Linux" at 2.9%. In addition, 5% is attributed to "unknown" operating systems - which are likely forms of BSD or obscure varieties of Linux.
Maybe a small company can’t devote the resources for 5% of the market share when they have 86% covered.
I mean, I think most of us understand why GOG's Linux support is miles behind Steam's, but that doesn't change the fact that it is behind. Years ago I bought several games from GOG because of the no DRM policy; but once Steam released a Linux version, and began pumping resources into Proton, the choice for me was easy, and I switched over. I understand GOG's position, but I don't think there's anything wrong with people pointing out how GOG doesn't have the same level of Linux support as Steam does. That's useful information.
How small of a company do you think they are? Their parent company is publicly traded and worth at least half a billion dollars. Not only that, but after they port their launcher, they can piggyback on the investment Valve has made into the platform for pennies on the dollar, if they were interested in wrapping games with Proton or whatnot.
Yes I wasn’t a fan of the shift timer either but without it it’s a pretty low stress game. I enjoy playing it when my friends aren’t on for Remnant or whatever we’re playing at the time.
